I have the potential of giving my 2001 100 series with 190k to my younger brother and getting my mom's 2008 200 with 200k miles, but it has a leaky diff, has a number of bad dents and is in the teal blue color. My Hundy has sliders, a Slee Blueberry, A/T Tires, and some cosmetic enhancements. I am in a dilemma and don't know if I should take the stock 200 or keep my current cruiser. I like the looks of the Hundy, but the 4.7 compared to this 5.7 is night and day as well as the new technology in the 200. What do you former 100 owners think? It will be my daily driver and used for camping/wheeling on the weekends. Rear seat occupants are irrelevant as I am a student with a girlfriend. Any advice would be appreciated!

no regrets, none, zero, zip, the 200 is the 100 series on steroids! Grab that 200 and start the mods!

A good friend of mine that works with Monica, yep the race truck, said if you can swing it you won't regret it. I made the jump this week and my Hundy, also known as old faithful, is in the driveway with the possibility of going to my daughter. No timing belt, no bearings to pack, better ride, over 100 HP more....the list goes on....its just sweet.

only thing I've noticed so far is no opening rear quarter windows and the cabin space feels smaller, perhaps it's not really, but the middle row in particular feels more cramped in the 200. I also liked being able to move the rear seats forward a little when not in use. The electric rear seat feature I feel was more of a way to try and keep up with competitors but since it's not completely automatic, it just a gimick imo. the ride in the 200 is much improved though. my daughter will be driving my 100 now until she leaves for college, then we'll see, maybe I'll lift it and keep it up north.

The electric rear seats is an LX feature only. It's not on the LC.

I had 2 100's.... zero zero zero regrets... 200 is awesome!!

My only regret is not buying a 200 sooner. This is coming from a former 100 snob who originally felt the 200 was a major downgrade and refused to buy one. I ended up buying one to add to my collection but now my 100 is collecting dust.

Well, I can't answer your question in relation to the specific 200 you're looking at because I don't have enough info. But, generically speaking, DO IT and don't look back! My 200 is the nicest vehicle I've ever driven. I thought I'd be keeping my 100, but it's not been driven since I got the 200 and probably needs to go to a good home. If you've got someone who wants your 100, bonus!

I own both, a '99 100 and a '10. My 200 is better in almost all tangible metrics such as power, capability, space, luxury etc but it does not have the "soul" of my 100. Now, this probably has everything to do with the fact that I've owned my 100 for almost 16 years and have experienced many memories in that car. In fact, both of my daughters in this pic have/are driving her as a high school car (my third will drive here in about three years).

Now, if my 200 has the same longevity with my family, I'm sure I'll be saying my 200 has more soul than my 300. And y'all will be drooling over my classic 100 series ;)

They all have souls, but dam I love the 200. My son loved the 40 more.

No regerets. I have a multitude of cruisers and still have a 40 as well. The power alone is enough reason. Also the best pairing of engine and transmission, your 100 series year has been known to have tranny issues. I loved my 80 and then my 100 and now my 200. The 200 is the best Land Cruiser and vehicle I have ever owned

I had my 100 when I first started dating my wife about 5 years ago, and she loved riding in it but hated driving it. I just bought a 200 a little over a week ago, and I have literally only driven it one time since I brought it home. She loves it so much she has driven it every day, and I'm actually looking to potentially get another 200 and cancel my order to get her a Tesla 3 next year. My thought is if she likes it that much, it's got to be pretty amazing (I just wish I could tell you first hand LOL).

There is something about feeling a little more connected to the road in the 100. Can not really place my finger on it, maybe it is just a less refined feel??

I did love the 100 though, so do not take that negatively.

I have both!

Love the 2Hundy. No regrets.

We took the 2Hundy to Cruise Moab last May. Me, my bride, 4 children, a boatload of luggage & one bicycle. That truck hauled us all and never felt like it was working hard at all.

Like others have said; they're fine trucks. I'm sure if you make the leap, you'll never look back.

Nice RW wheels on the 100. In the beginning I thought like you in regards to the 100 having a more raw feel. The 200 is more planted then the 100. I feel the road feedback to be more refined in the 200. I think the 100 center of gravity is higher than the 200 which makes it feel more rugged and go anywhere.
