plated parts installed

Had time to install the buckets in the bezel along with roundeyes;).
Also put in the coil. Looks really nice. The only issue I am having is making the hood close properly. When I just set the bezel in, it closed fine. Now with 2 top nuts on either side have some adjustment. They are all the way back.

Tried moving the hinge that holds on the bezel. Looks like I am about 1/2" off. I will get it figured.

I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I have fuel lines, rear harness, seats , rear heater, and a muffler, and I am done. I hope to wrapped up by the end of Feb.

Since you're going with that blingy chrome bezel, I will gladly take that twisted one you have sitting around. :flipoff2:

Nice job on all the work Scott! You're going to be driving it pretty soon!
You can have it. 3 of the holes line up:hhmm:.

Okay Talked to the body man today(he finally finished my doors). He said he had to "stretch" the body, did not use one of the rockers because he had to fabricate the piece with the point which meets near the bottom of the door. He said, if you had the cash, go with a 3/4 tub. Definately did not like working with the 1/2 tub and rockers. I also asked him if repairing the rust demons would have been better, again no. Hope this helps, but if I had to do it over again, I would have sprung for a pilgrim tub when they were available here on mud instead of the $5k+ price on ccot.

Thanks. I think Im going to work with my existing rockers as I know they are the right length. This way all I need to do is weld in some flat metal.

I agree with you on buying 3/4 tub next time, but too late now. A '79+ tub goes for $6500 not including shipping at CCOT!!!

There are others though including Oscar at PASCOL in Atlanta. He sells a 3/4 tub for $5200 and I could have drove there and picked it up.

Better yet, next time I will search before buying the 1st "good eBay deal."

Like they say hindsight is 20/20, but at least Im learning to weld! :D

Your truck is looking great btw!

who is Oscar and what is PASCOL? Pilgrim usta sell 3/4 tubs on here for $2800+ shipping. Glad I could help with your fitting.

Ha Scott,

The pictures do not do the job justice, great build. Did you get a chance to measure the door spacing.

Did not do the measurement yet. I have the doors closed to try and relax the new w/stripping. I will be at the shop tomorrow and let you know. It looks = on sides and top. No clearance at the bottom whatsoever.

bezel

got the bezel from orange45 yesterday, so...

Also did the final fitting of the hood/fenders/apron/bib. It was a long process, but in the end we bolted the aforementioned parts togeter, and dropped down as one unit. The bib hinge slid right into place.

I bought the floor pans from Oscar at PACOL in Atlanta, GA.

He is just getting started and no website, but I liked the guy when I talked to him on the phone so I bit.

I got the number from IH8MUD but I will list again 770-403-8026.

I decided to fix rusty rockers so I wouldnt have the door fitment issues. Seems to be working...

Here's the rear plate on my 40. Yours is probably different!

IT attaches to a bracket with 3 screws on the rear door.

The wiring exits through 2 holes with an attached ground to the door on mine.

How does it tie into the marker lights, if you have them. I do have about4 or 5 female butt connectors in my rear harness that I know are where they tie in, just looking for the routing i.e. the pigtails that plug into there. I also know there should be a hole in a rear wheel well w/grommet...

mystery plugs

My 40 has a stamped piece on the side panels just in front of the roll bar on each side. There is a threaded hole in each one for about a 3/4 bolt.

Kjohnson stopped at the shop the other day, and he had no idea either. He then came back on sunday to get some reference pics, and I showed him these 2 "plugs" I had no idea where they went. He goes, "OH, I know." They fit/threaded right into those 2 spots. But I have no idea what purpose they serve. Maybe someone knows.
