Who needs a set? New or used? :grinpimp:

That's great to know. I'll keep that in mind.;)

I just bought new ones about four months ago so I thought I'd give toyota a call. They said they can order them and have them for me in a few days. I was asking about a 74 fj55. Not sure what year you want them for of if they differ for other years. The guys I talked to are in Santa Rosa, Ca at Freeman Toyota. ph# 707-542-1719 but any dealer should be able to locate them for you. They quoted me 90.13 ea but I got them cheaper with a 25% discount by being a TLCA member.:D Hope that helps.

mirror part number for the fj55 is 87910-90351 and cost $64.84...i cant remember if this is the left of right...the other side is part number 87940-90351 and also cost $64.84...brand spanking new:) from toyota...or a toyota parts supplier online.

yup, mine were about 67.00 out the door.
I haven't put them on yet, or the windshield and all the rubber I have been buying over the last six months. I'm slowly gathering parts then its time for new paint. Its a long road, but worth it in the end.

65.00 is a good price for new mirrors IMO

I keep buying "the last pair in the Ontario CA warehouse" thinking maybe, someday they'll be worth something. Maybe once they really are discontinued I'll sell a few sets and afford the NOS FJ55 fenders a horder friend of mine has. Thus far, however, Toyota keeps supplying the mirrors. I'll have to find some other unobtanium to corner the market on.

Sounds like a great idea, buy it all up then sell the stuff back to your fellow pigsters at an inflated price. I love it!!! :flipoff2:

Yeah I only wish somebody else had thought of it before they ran out of rear bumper ends. I'd pay an inflated price for a pair of those.

FWIW, demand is what keeps these old parts in production. If guys keep buying them, Toyota will keep supplying them. Once the demand dries up, so does the supply. Once that happens we are all glad to know somebody has horded NOS parts for sale at an inflated price. Its community service.

Is there a particular reason for that? I've always thought that those #$%^ing caps were one of the worst things Toyota has ever designed, and I can't imagine, even for a purist restoring a FJ55, would have anything to do with those, even with some sort of reinforcement.

Dumb perhaps but correct. That's the trouble wih restorations, sometimes you have to suppress the desire to make a rig better than it's manufacturer did. We're collecting parts for a restoration. Ratpuke has already collected, 8 new or nearly new original tires, one Koito headlamp, a correct looking battery, (wrong manufaturer, correct style with the vent caps) and nearly all the interior pieces. We might still be missing something from the tool kit but I can't remember what.

The list is getting very short. Still looking for a perfect rear mat, a perfect rear bumper (or ends) and one left hand drive Koito headlamp.

I'm having a moral delema about the Pertronics unit in the stock dizzy. It really works well and is hidden away so it just *might* stay.
