Today at 3:50 the Land Cruiser # FJ40184704 "Pandora's Box" finally thundered to life COMPLETED after I installed the choke cable, throttle assembly, and idle solonoid wire on the newly installed '74 carburetor and intake courtesy of Degnol and 3_puppies. It is finally finished, after 3 1/2 years of work. These are the only pics I have so far, as my camera died shortly after the third one. I'll try to post up pics of the engine bay for the two aforementioned ;) Thank you everybody, you've all helped me get it to where it is now, and have kept me going when I felt like selling it out of frustration. I owe you all a couple of  's. It seems igotta40 beat me to posting up a thread, his is a marvelous beauty as well! Now I can finally sit back and have a life!

What are those things on your rear springs, some type of add-on helper spring?

Hey,FineWynsFJ40! where do you stow the spare

dgangle, they're Hellwig helper springs. Fuzzy Logic, I have a 1963 rear tire carrier I'm going to install, but as far as drivability goes it's 100% done. I just stick it in the rear cargo hold for now. The dog is a Größer Münsterländer, an old German hunting breed. His name is Willy, after the Jeep that drove America to Berlin. If he was an Iraqi dog we'd name him Humvee :grinpimp:

Very nice on the finished rig. Nothing better than cruising around with your dog in the front seat unless maybe the wife likes to go for a ride.

DAMN! That is sweet! Love the color! Nice dog, too. He's beautiful. Sure wish I had a hard top. You did a great job.

Very nice. Congratulations on finishing the project. Your pics give me the fortitude to keep going on mine.

Great. Just when I get it running 100% a freakin' snowstorm hits! The salt trucks are out doing what they do best, you know what that means:doh: I envy all of you southern folks who can drive yours all year round, be thankful!:crybaby: So, now she becomes a garage queen for a couple months... grrr... :censor:

Like the 40 and the dog also, I know what you mean about those Michigan salt trucks, I live in the south but I just bought my 40 in August from a guy in Grand Rapids and lets just say it has seen its fair share of road salt.
