I came across a grille from a '69 Piggy and thought it might be cool for my '74, but the lights are a little toasted.

One lens is cracked, the other side (w/ intact lens) has no wires.

Does anyone have any pieces for these?

Has anyone restored the lenses or electrical in these?

Thanks!

I have a 69, but the grille is like my 71, no lights. I would like to have a set also. The side maker lights, don't look too bad, there.

Those are stocked in the bin between the bib mounted turn signals and shield steering wheels, you know the shelf above the forward mount h55 top plates :frown: I've seen exactly two sets of those lights, and the other only had one that was the correct OEM piece :(

Sweet find though!

I guess I got lucky, I picked up a set of 69 grille lights here last year. I am planning on putting them on my 69 grille, someday

This is a pretty common practice in hot rod/restoration circles. Haven't done it myself, but I've seen my dad do it. Not too complicated.

You could make as many as you want!

That is cool! I need to read a little closer, I wonder if orange lenses are an option?

I did find a guy who would be willing to reproduce the grille marker lights for the '69 grille, I have not sent my set in yet for the reproduction...

New gaskets would be good! The housings are easy to clean up. Media blast and plate or paint. Use the guts from a new marker light and you're done.

Pablo,

I used the front marker lights from a '74 pig. I saw a set of used grille lights like yours from CruiserYard that sells for $85. If someone is reproducing the lenses, thats great, then I will go with scrapdaddy's suggestions. I will be replacing mine with newer/nicer front marker lights.

thanks,
Montano

Montano,

How do you have your grille lights wired, just as parking ( running ) lights or blinkers?

Do they have two wires or just one?

Thanks Man,

Ron

Ron,

It's wired just as parking. There were two wires, connected the positive to the side marker light positive wire and negative wire with washer like tip to one of the bolt that attaches the marker light to the grille.

Thanks,
Montano

where in the state are you located?

I rounded up a set of lenses (L & R) that I think are good enough to reproduce, so I am going to send them off and get a bid for how much it would be per set.

It will take a couple of weeks to get numbers...

Wondering how many folks might be up for this? It seems like I am seeing more and more '69 grilles w/ marker lights with all the new Pigs showing up these days!

I should probably start a new thread, but I think I'll wait until I have numbers...

Pablo,

Sorry, I didn't know you were looking for some examples. Mine are sitting here.

I'm in for two sets. Always need some spares.

Thanks for doing this.

Ron

No worries mate! If I was stressing about it I would have shouted out, just a little side project.

Thanks for the reply.

Looks like I spoke too soon, my guy won't take them until mid-February!

Holidays keep him busy with castings...
