Wheel fell off near Scipio Utah

My guess would be over torqued. Ive mostly used a torque wrench, but I'm sure over the years I've hit em with the impact a bit too hard. The wheels and lug nuts were factory cone style. Wheel holes didn't appear worn at all.

Wheel fell off near Scipio Utah

I appreciate the help. I rebuilt my front end with parts from you guys years ago, but neglected to replace the wheel studs. Guess the factory ones wear out around 196k. I think I'll be in for a 24 pack when I get home.:worms:

Wheel fell off near Scipio Utah

I was able to get towed off the freeway, borrowed a floor jack from the tow driver. His son fetched some new studs and lug nuts for me and I did a roadside repair. Should be good to get home, but my front end is apparently due for a thorough rebuild.

Wheel fell off near Scipio Utah

I just had my front passenger wheel fall off going 80mph down hwy 15 in Utah. The wheel studs sheared off. I'm looking for ideas on where to take for repairs. Edit: all fixed up. Any ideas what would cause all 6 wheel studs to break? Torque was checked before trip, went from Washington to...

PrInSu Design Studio - 80 series roof rack

Interesting, my rears fit ok but the rest were way out. I did consider bending them into shape, but that's gonna be a low priority project since the originals work fine.

PrInSu Design Studio - 80 series roof rack

I wasn't able to use my new ones. Couldn't get them even close to fitting. I have a fairly early rack, I wonder if they've changed at all. Only other thing I can think of is that they sent me hardware for a different vehicle by mistake. I reinstalled my old mounts in the end.

    Best all around Snow Chains

I went to Les Schwab and bought a set of what they call mud service chains. Heavy duty regular link chains, similar to what I use at work on my UPS truck. They work great in packed snow or ice. Deep snow they chain dig a bit too much and get you stuck. Pretty unstoppable for the most part in a...

Harbor Freight Jack Stand Recall May 2020 - Item Numbers 56371, 61196, and 61197

Yep, mine had the right(wrong?) serial. Good thing I already did my lift, and used them to swap the axle on my M105 military trailer.

    1/2” Cordless Impact Recommendations

I'm pretty happy with my ridgid. I had the old version, which was a bit underpowered. The new one seems much stronger, and has a 4 power level switch which is handy. I especially like the auto stop mode, you can spin lug nuts in until they're basically hand tight, then come back with a torque...

What Height and Model # Air Bags With A Lift?

I installed the stock size air lift kit with my TJM progessive coils. I cut the bottom 2" of my bumpstop off, and ran the air line through the bottom. I didn't expand the whole. 2 years out, including a trip to Moab with lots of flexing. I haven't had any issues. I air up when hauling a load or...

    Very cheap tool hack

I bought a cheap continuous flow air grease gun, and removed the zerk fitting on the hose. Flows a whole cartridge out pretty quickly.

Anyone here running a turndown instead of a tailpipe?

My stock exhaust melted a hitch carrier that was too close. :/

    Finally fixed my spongy brakes.

I had torqued to 25 ft lbs. I retorqued it to 25 again, but haven't got a whole lot of miles on it yet. If I have an issue I'll go back in and bump up both sides I guess.

    Finally fixed my spongy brakes.

My drivers front wheel bearing was loose. Oops. It must've loosened up shortly after I rebuilt the steering knuckles, and I didn't think to check that. I have the fancy trailgear locknuts, I didn't think they could go slack like that.

    Puma 12V Compressor

I wonder if this is why I'm undewhelmed with my puma. I'll have to test my voltage drop.
