    Charcoal Canister Replacement Option

A notification for this popped up the other day. I had been meaning to comment for some time: I did something like this like 4 years ago now, or so. While it held well, it would still trip slow leak codes. No engine light, just saved codes. I did have to redo the repair once when it got...

Power Steering Line Leak - replacement hose size?

Hi @2001LC , i have this exact same issue as you did on my LC100. This same hose on the pressure line is weeping severely. I am curious, how is your repair with just replacing that hose holding up? I can either do what you did, easy, quick, and inexpensive, or I can replace the entire thing for...

    SOLD LC100 Brake Booster Assembly - 47210-60063 - Used

I've got a used Brake Booster Assembly, complete with master cylinder, motor, and accumulator. Toyota part 47210-60063. Pulled from my 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser 100 at 296,455 miles. Was pulled (yesterday!), working, making the traditional noise charging up. On very cold days it could take a...

Dexron III or Toyota WS ATF transmission fluid. What ATF are you using?

I went through the same phase. The issue isn’t what the manufacturer claims. They all claim compatibility. Compatibility with everything. For example, Is an off brand headlight bulb compatible with your headlamp? Sure, but does that guarantee it will perform as well as a better brand one? Amazon...

Dexron III or Toyota WS ATF transmission fluid. What ATF are you using?

Personally, and this is based on my experience with a 4WD Highlander which is admittedly a totally different drive train- I used Valvoline Synthetic to replace the ATF, and I got an issue with a rough low end gear change that had not been present before. After that I tried Amsoil, same thing...

    Help please! speaker replacement

I just refoamed my existing speakers. Good as new for $20 a pair, and the sub was about $10. You can look up videos on YouTube on you to do it, and kits are available on Amazon and eBay. Look them up by speaker part number. This way I was able to skip worrying about fit and load, and save some...

    Charcoal Canister Replacement Option

Your comment on the spring pressing on the carbon has reminded me of something- I wish I had rememebered sooner, sorry, as I'm sure others who did this ran into something similar: I was somewhat fortunate the JB weld failed the first time, because when it took it apart to reseal it, I swear...

    Charcoal Canister Replacement Option

I think it looks good. It's pretty much how I did mine, and it's held for a good 15-20,000 miles.

    Charcoal Canister Replacement Option

It was a little frustrating. I had to redo the bottom end 3 times before I found a way to get it to stay. I feel like it is pressurized. I opened mine by using a hammer and carpenter knife along the bottom seam and slowly chiseled around until I broke the seam open. After emptying I cleaned...

Hey guys. This is an awesome thread. Thanks for so much help! Did anyone find a way to unscrew the accumulator without the tool mentioned in the Toyota FSM? I want to try replacing the spring and so on in there when i get the motor refurbished. Thanks!

    ABS Accumulator

@OverlandOutdoors, did you get this tool to do this, or did you find a way without it?

    Charcoal Canister Replacement Option

It's really not hard to get to. I've been under there so many times I can do the whole thing in a matter of minutes. Even rebuilding the canister is not hard. Just time, trial, and error. As for removing it... My concern would not only be the sensor (which will turn off VSC if there is a code)...

    Charcoal Canister Replacement Option

Quick update: This was the second time the JB Weld developed hair line cracks resulting in leaks of the EVAP system. It did throw a litany of codes, but what I found most interesting was how bad it affected engine idle and low RPM performance. Hairline cracks in the canister! During idle, the...
