No worries, I didn't end up getting a Denso Condenser, instead I went with the Spectra. The only complaint I have is that it didn't come with the brackets. Other then that it works great.
Any condenser you buy, just check the fins for any damage.
After reading this, when should you replace the u-joints on the 100? I get when it's lifted you open a can of worms, but is there a time frame/mileage for these?
I have vibration when accelerating to 60+, when I let the gas go it stops. I'm gonna change my tires first since the treads are...
Anyone you get is fine honestly they both come in plastic lens. I went through 2 sets of OEM, water got into both. If these were the headlights I would say differently.
Get a set that is SAE / DOT approved on aftermarket and you should be ok. They are built a bit better.
When you do get any of...
I actually ordered the Denso Evaporator on Rock Auto, when it came in the numbers matched from the manual and it also matches with the original one that came with the truck. Toyota has different reference numbers on their website.
For sure use OEM or Denso on Evap and Compressor. It's a big job...
It's not bad per say, from what I understand it dries up because of the reaction R-134 has with the oil. It causes the compressor to seize after awhile, but it should be ok since you only used it on the O-rings. Worst case your seals may leak, fix it then.
Yes I forgot to mention that, on the manual it says to use compressor oil on all the O-rings, after doing some reasearch nylog blue holds the seal far better and maintains the viscosity far longer then just using oil.
My case my o rings dried up and the leak happened at all the seals. I capped...
I just did my AC system a few months ago, I kept having this leak, got fed up, replaced all the main components, besides the high and low lines.
I ended up getting a Denso compressor, Denso Evaporator, and Spectra Condenser.
I did the Evaporator myself and got new O rings for the system and...
I had some more photos but I did not post them the quality was terrible trying to hold the camera without having it fall into the bay. I ended up purchasing a borescope with a screen, (I needed one for my bench anyway) I'll take better shots of all the areas mentioned and get back.
I do want to...
Very detailed breakdown, thank you for that, it was well thought out.
Ok, here is a list of components done so far:
rear main (redundancy nothing was wrong but since I was there I did it anyway.)
crankshaft, 2x camshaft, main oil seals
All from THO
Aisin kit for the water pump and timing...
I said the same thing while doing that job, I actually painted it with rust reformer and a top coat. Unfortunately, I don't have a good photo of it. This is the only one after I did the diff drop.
I recommend anyone who wants to paint anything on the frame better off not to. The paint will...
Lol I was wondering when you would reply 😆
I haven't done anything yet, I need to plan it out since I use this as my daily driver.
I have to purchase all the parts still.
You're right I'm going to get to those first, I thought it was the tranny pan, but after cleaning it up and re-torquing the bolts, it was ruled out.
The truck has about 79,000 miles on it, I was really thinking it may be best to take it out and look it over since it is also over 15 years old...
