Trail/Trip Recommended Spare Parts 2nd Gen Tundra

A milwaukee m18 impact and 1/2 inch metric sockets.. and a harbor freight aluminum 150 dollar floor jack.. Maybe i am crazy but i tend to maintain the truck more than spares.. i might change the water pump and brakes and battery.. maybe the alternator.. and the radiator hoses.. change the...

Recommendations when changing the timing belt on 2005 Toyota Sequoia?

90 k miles is the normal recommended time. If your planning on keeping the truck a long long time i might have it done at 100 k miles knowing it will get you another 100 k miles after its done... that might be pushing it but i doubt 100 k would ever have an issue... just an idea .

    First Oil Change Question

Toyota or any car maker wants to sell you a new car when your vehicle fails and needs a new transmission and engine. Its out of warranty. My company does 5000 mile oil changes because its cheaper for them to drive company vehicles 400 k miles and more. Big companies go to the effort to do oil...

    First Oil Change Question

Bmlittle. Toyotas warranty ends before your lack of maintainance will destroy an engine than can last easily over 500 k miles. I will tell you when I shop for a used truck that a vehicle with 10k oil changes is easily worth 5000 dollars less to me than one with 5000 mile changes. I consider...

Recommendations when changing the timing belt on 2005 Toyota Sequoia?

Thermostat , coolant main hoses. Heater lines should be fine. The radiator is a smart move. And they are not that expensive.

Need suggestion - Long distance Toyota Sequoia purchase

Look for a clean non branded title.. no flood. No rebuild salvage. And the person or shop i am talking to should show me the current name on the title if a private person / owner. Long distance you want someone to smell for cigarette smoking and mildew. To look at panel alignment...

Need suggestion - Long distance Toyota Sequoia purchase

I would like to buy a gen 2 sequoia or land cruiser 100 series. I would want someone to go over fuel trim and all the factory computer info along with the trans computer. I would want service records. And to check the frame for rust issues. And to look over the cam towers on the 5.7 v8 for...

200 Series - Electrical Issues - Any advice or feedback?

I could we way way off...but i think the water is coming in from under the truck while driving in the rain. I would want to have the seat mounting area checked and see if there was ever a reason to open up that seat area and a piece of plastic or shield never got put back correctly. I would be...

Anyone rear ended lately? Need a tip

Had a nice woman with bad driving attention hit the rear hitch on my superduty. Did 3500 dollars damage to her chevy front. My ford superduty 15 dollar trailer hitch wiring bracket needed to be bent back a little. I did get a 15 dollar check from the womans husband. He thanked me for being calm...

    Tire Pressure recommendation

I think what your saying makes perfect sense. So that and 5 bucks and you can get coffee at the little window. Do people realize that correct air pressure is not one fixed psi ? It depends on your terrain and even more the vehicle loading and in many cases the skill level of the driver.

    First Oil Change Question

I have no official toyota voodoo to know the best time and mileage, but for every new car and truck I have owned I prefer to change oil and filter at 5000 mile intervals with the first one at 2000 to 3000 miles. My reasoning is that oil is cheap and engines are expensive. New engines, even...
