You could drive a $15k LC nearly as nice inside with 250k miles. Park it outside, plow through snow banks etc. you’ll have essentially the same repair costs with 75k mile LC as a 250k mile LC that’s been maintained. Also if you put 100k miles on a museum piece it’ll depreciate.

Surprisingly it looks like all you need is small 2-12V DC power supply, a brush cathode and anode wand, and some "chrome stripping" and "gold plating solution" all of which appears to be available on amazon and reasonably priced! I might try it
