    LC 250 & GX550 Picture Thread

Skip to video below if you don't care about CAFE standards or regulations. I do agree. It's one thing to say "All vehicles should have XX fuel economy" which sounds great on the surface but a very different thing to make that happen while balancing consumer needs/demands. I think THAT is why...

Do you know if there are any East Coast opportunities to check out the 550 or 250? Everything I see seems to be West Coast only.

    LC 250 & GX550 Picture Thread

The power difference? The towing capacity? The nomenclature? I haven't seen a single "assuredness of greatness" post whatsoever. I've seen "I'm sure it will be capable" and "I'm sure it will fill it's role" but I haven't seen "This will be a great Land Cruiser that dwarfs all those that come...

    LC 250 & GX550 Picture Thread

Which example of mine was an infomercial? Frankly, I think the level of assuredness in these threads that everything you hear is a lie is more ignorant than listening to people that have actually seen the vehicle, even if they could possibly have an ulterior motive to say what they say. What I...

    LC 250 & GX550 Picture Thread

I'm still struggling with the "Prado" hate on the 250, but I will admit that my only LC experience is in an 80 series. The 250 has twice the hp/tq as my 91 and tows more. What makes my 80 series a full on land cruiser and this a prado? Just because it COULD be a 200 series but isn't? Frankly...

I disagree, and I don't think you need to be a Land Cruiser expert to discuss capabilities and drawbacks of the 250. As an 80 owner, I don't look at the 200 series and think "wow, now there's a Land Cruiser," and I'm not sure why I'd make any assumption that the 250 doesn't look like it can...

Whats the best mpg for a stock 92 fj80?

Luckily around here in VA the max speed limits I ever see are 55. I'd sacrifice the MPGs before I'd be the guy driving UNDER the limit!!! haha

Whats the best mpg for a stock 92 fj80?

91 here. I drive basically 55-60 on the highways, and there will be some error in my calculations as I have to convert from km and have 33" tires (for quick math at the pump I use 3mi/5km and multiply by 1.06 for the tires). I average 13.2 usually. With more highway I've broken 14 and the...

Cool review that shows some reasonably aggressive driving. Sure, not slow, technical trails, but he definitely didn't take it easy on her. I'm impressed at least.

    Steering Damper bolt removal

is this the tool you mean? This is the one I used, but the first few times I tried I just couldn’t get the wedges in…. Then I just whacked the hell out of it until it wedged in and then the actual press part took almost no pressure.

    Steering Damper bolt removal

GOT IT! Used the ball joint tool like a pickle fork and hammered the ever loving s*** out of it to get it in. Then it just squeezed right out. I was just worried about beating on it but it worked 🤷‍♂️ Now to swap it over and get this job done finally.

    Steering Damper bolt removal

My vice is pretty small, so I might have to find a buddy with a better setup. I’ll give that a shot though, thanks!

    Steering Damper bolt removal

Hey all, I’m replacing my tie rod ends and am unsure how to get this bolt out that attaches my Dobinson’s damper to the tie rod. I’ve tried beating it out with a mallet. Also tried using the ball joint removal tool I used for the tie rod ends but can’t get it between the large washer and the...

    Slow window, new runs/weatherstrip

With a bit of work you might be able to fashion something up. From my googling, the OEM regulator has a channel in the rotating pin of the arm. See here Here’s the Dorman. No spring, no channel. Though I bet you could tack something in if you really wanted.

Got the rears in today, no springs. I read a few posts online saying the same thing about dry silicone, I'll definitely look it up
