Seat belt options for 1988 FJ62

Thanks gang! After some research, and talking to the wife about safety, we decided to go with simple and ordered for seatbeltplanet. A little higher price paid but I think we'll have greater confidence. I started looking into the LJ79 and FJ80 series you mentioned (great write up BTW) @red66toy...

Seat belt options for 1988 FJ62

Hey gang. So, continuing themaint on the daughters FJ62 and we need new front seatbelt. She was invaded by a bear this winter and along with the damaged pass seat back cushion, the driver seat belt is now broken. I’ve read through a few other threads and perhaps SeatbeltPlanet, Collectors Auto...

    1978 FJ40 2F with new VintageAir

Outstanding, thank you. I do have the sag PS pump with its belt on the first groove with the crank, water pump and air pump. I am forced to offset my alt out to match up with the outer groove on the crank pulley and the compressor pulley. This also forces the belt to need to go around the water...

    1978 FJ40 2F with new VintageAir

Hey gang, I've been looking all over with no luck so trying a post. I recently put a VintageAir AC system in and it works great. However, I now have an issue with getting the proper cha=rge from the alternator. The VA bracket they supply is not long enough to be able to tighten the belt enough...

    Ventilation baffle gasket 78fj40

I never did find one so I purchased some good oil gasket material at Oreilly’s and carefully cut it with an exacto knife. I recall i went slow and used a couple of different blades to make sure it was sharpe and cut clean. turned out pretty good. Good luck!

Carb Cooling Fan Relay Question (with video)

Fair enough. I was thinking also of recreating the functions with an arduino nano and 12v relay to simulate. Then, stuff it all in the OEM housing with the standard connector for a plug and play option. If I ever get around to it I'll post it here. Cheers!

Carb Cooling Fan Relay Question (with video)

For 1988-1990, at the bottom of page 12-39 in the Haynes 92056 1980-1996, FJ60, 62, 80, FZJ80 book, you will find the diagram for the cooling fan circuit. For 1980-1987 it's on page 12-22. I'll try and get some pics and post 'em.

Carb Cooling Fan Relay Question (with video)

Sure sounds like the fan relay going nuts. Run it again and try disconnecting the therm resistor/temp sensor and see if it stops the clicking. Was the fan never working before this? Maybe remove the relay and clean the contacts also, for good measure.

    1988 3Fe power weak

Sorry for the delay. I had to step away for a bit. ;o) Still working it. What I did last was removed and bench tested the throttle body. It was very difficult to dial in so I replaced with another I got from @orange45 that I was able to calibrate. I fixed the hesitation issue strangely. With my...

Gremlins-i need help from any electrical gurus out there

I put in the 60w, 4x6 LX-Lights from Amazon and they plugged right in. Everything works great and they take way less amp and avoid burning up the common ground behind the inst cluster Ive seen halogens do so often. Thats where all the gremlins have come from that I have seen.

    Electrical stuff

I was planning to map it all first and then build the schematic much like @Coolerman has done with his previous stuff. From there I was considering building new or other options but the jury is still out on that. As for the MAF, I tested a few old one and found a few good and one bad so I've...

    Electrical stuff

@Engineer8000 Hello sir. Got a note from @orangefj45 that you were working on a some cool electrical stuff. I have been just starting the same type of work and thought it would be great to sync up perhaps and I could learn form your experiences. I've been testing some old MAFs for him and few...
