Just replying to say this sounds awesome, won't be around for this but wish I could come along, have fun! I just got back from a 2week trip with the main routes being through mud lakes - poison mtn - china head - Schwartz - Taseko - Chilko - Perkins Peak and back through Gang Ranch. It was...
That's me (with the snorkel) and my brother's rig! If you see a black 80 series around campus that's my other brother. Last semester at UVic for me
My BJ74 only had a front sway bar, I completely removed it in July when I redid the trucks suspension. I have not noticed any difference in on road handling, although I bet that high speed emergency maneuvers probably wouldn't be as stable. Offroad the truck articulates and rides much better imo
Yeah that's exactly the reason I mounted them there, also because my power window relay is right where the speakers would have mounted up front.
They would for sure sound better more forward but they honestly still sound very good where they are - much better than they did when I only had 6x9s...
Was gonna order door pods but I had everything else and was getting impatient :hillbilly:
Got the new door cards, sound deadening, and speakers in yesterday and wired up to amplifier. So far I'm super happy with how it turned out

They work great with the parabolics
The tires are 315 / 75 / R16 or 35x12.5”
Only been driving with them for a couple days but initial impressions...
Refreshed the suspension on the BJ74 over the last couple days,
Terrain Tamer parabolic leafs (thanks George and Roarke!),
5.8” shackles and U-bolt flip kits from MAF,
& cheap and longer BDS shocks for now.
I was able to clean up and reuse the caster wedges.
The ride is seriously transformed...
New weatherstrip for the FRP top today.... well tomorrow,
Found some minor cracks in the FRP top as I removed the old weatherstripping, nothing structural but why not make it a bit better before I seal er up again?
I'm no fibreglass guy but I have repaired a few hulls and delaminated Laser...
