Took it out for a test spin after 9 months of work. Went through brakes, suspension, cooling system, fuel tank/lines and general cleanup. Drove great.
It amazes me to be able to take something apart and then put it all back together and actually get in it and drive it. And for it to work!
Visible deterrent is good. I use a steering wheel club and have it pointing up so all can see. Don’t want them breaking a window or prying the door open to find out.
Not sure it will prevent the pro from stealing it but will hopefully keep honest people honest.

I don’t believe the earlier FJ40s had an overflow tank. I have a 74 and it never had one, unless the previous owner took it off.
I used a FJ60 overflow tank and mounted it to the bracket where the horn is located and moved the horn down lower on the fender.
My son has a 2007 FJ Cruiser here in California. We’ve had it a couple years and never had a problem filling the gas tank. Just recently, we are having issues putting gas in the tank. When filling, the pump constantly cuts out and maybe takes only 1-2 gallons of gas after many cut outs. I tried...
