    CAD model thread?

Awesome stuff! I like the idea of using Onshape. It's free and easy to use. The free version is open to anyone that signs up. The big advantage with using this is that all files in the free version can be seen by anyone. This means all we would need for sharing files is the URL to the design. No...

    CAD model thread?

Looks interesting. I have not done any scanning, but have been on the receiving end of many scanned models. The challenge is getting the scanned results into a useable format once it is brought into a CAD system. The output from a scanner is a faceted model (ie. .stl file format) which is the...

    CAD model thread?

Just curious if anyone has ever seen or put together a thread that shares CAD data? Recently saw a tailgate/bumper design from @DangerNoodle done in OnShape. I have seen others occasionally that were done in Inventor or Solidworks, etc. I personally use Creo (Pro/E) and have done a few things...

    heater tube mounting location

so if I understand, the two locations for the clips, are actually longer studs with a nut for the side cover, then a spacer and hose clip, then a second nut? Thanks

    heater tube mounting location

Can anyone verify this tube mounts to the side cover holes circled in the picture? It lines up perfectly, but I am wondering if the tube needs to flip end for end. I say this because if I bolt it using the current orientation, the flange on the outside of the side cover would get crushed by the...

    Possible Canidate...

I agree, I bought mine 60 miles south of Chicago 6 years ago. Rust in some of the usual spots (rear sill, tops of fenders, and rockers) but frame and everything else was mostly rock solid and the truck was mostly unmolested. After paging thru a manual that came with it, realized it spent a...

These new aluminium "steelie" wheels from the fjcompany are pretty sweet!

Is that hoop on the back behind the factory roll bar for a "long" bikini top? I have been thinking about making something like that to cover the whole truck. How did you mount it at the base?

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Took the top off For summer and this year finally got around to welding up a legit lighted license plate holder. No more zip ties.

    Wrong Carb gasket?

Thanks Jim! I was kinda hoping it was the original bonded gasket. And your comment about spraying around the shaft makes perfect sense. It did change rpms significantly so maybe I am ok. I did find another small leak where the brake booster hose connects to the manifold and resolved that. So I...

    Wrong Carb gasket?

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up. I feel better about removing it now as I am pretty certain it was a source of my vac leak. Thanks again.

    Wrong Carb gasket?

So is that the green gasket I have in the second pic you refer too? Seemed like it was bonded on there and thought I had read somewhere not to mess with them? School me please. What would you replace them with because I believe that to be the source of my vac leak (at least one leakanyway). I...
