    1FZFE Sound After Rebuild

I will. It's just weird, this sound isn't constant 24/7. It's intermittent, some times it's silent. Cold starts it's quiet, almost seems like it'll start making the noise once it warms up a bit. I'm gonna get some more mileage since I just recently changed it. It's only ever had 10w30 since...

    1FZFE Sound After Rebuild

That's what I'm afraid of. Truck was silent for the first couple thousand miles. Now not so much. I am paranoid with all the bad luck I've been dealt with it, but was just checking for other input since my only experience before this thing blew the OG headgasket I only put like 10k miles on it....

    1FZFE Sound After Rebuild

The sound doesn't change with load or intensity but with a stethoscope I can clearly hear and feel the hollow "tapping" sound right on either the #3 or #4 cylinder. It's only on the aluminum upper oil pan. It doesn't transfer to the top/side/rear of the motor. It's completely silent on the front...

New Product, 1FZFE fuel pressure test adapters

Good enough for me to see when the truck is idling and under load. Diagnosing fuel pressure on 80s is a pain in the ass and saved me a ton of time. I look at it anytime I open the hood.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Only getting one day to work on the 80 has been a bummer. 16 quarts of fluid swapped out, new trans pan with temperature bung welded on put on the truck with sending unit for the manual gauge, Dakota digital fan controller and spal fan mounted up. Sometimes rock auto is awesome but they really...

How much torque can be applied to open a seized Spark Plug?

That's so funny. I love the smell of it 😂 Compared to WD40 and PB it's almost refreshing!

How much torque can be applied to open a seized Spark Plug?

Always heard the K16s are pre coated from Denso and there's no need for anti seize. Seems like everyone summed it up. We also swear by Kroil working on heavy equipment daily at the shop/in the field. They have a whole shelf damn near of the stuff. Was pretty shell shocked when I saw the per can...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Agreed. Everytime you post your truck gives me more motivation to get the 37s under mine with the sequioa wheels. Seriously good looking setup!

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Installed the Cruisers & Company power steering kit I've had laying as well as some higher temp fluid in prep for 37s.

    1FZFE Sound After Rebuild

So I looked back at my records. Ive put 14,800 miles on it since being rebuilt. I'm hoping some 1FZ nuts can help me here... The shop that rebuilt filled it with break in oil prior, and had primed the oil pump. No belts and it sounds the exact same. Anyone have any guesses? I haven't done an...

    1FZFE Sound After Rebuild

I'll update this as I go along. It's late, in the morning I'm going to double check that it's not a belt/pulley issue.

    1FZFE Sound After Rebuild

Hey MUD, Long story short. Truck has been gone through tip to tail. Full rebuild, All toyota parts ect ect.. Truck has about 10k on the rebuild, and to my knowledge I have footage of it running on first start up but I can't tell if it has always made the sound. Can you guys let me know if this...

New Product, 1FZFE fuel pressure test adapters

I'd bet with the Schrader valve alone you'd have enough room. The adapter port is closest to the plug wires when I tightened it down. The only reason I went and bought a 90 degree adapter is so I could angle the fuel pressure gauge up and it wouldn't interfere with the plug wires. I'd be...

New Product, 1FZFE fuel pressure test adapters

Very happy with Matt's product. 90 degree adapter allows you to run a gauge. No more guessing what my fuel pressure is now. Would recommend.
