Hey MUD,
Long story short. Truck has been gone through tip to tail. Full rebuild, All toyota parts ect ect.. Truck has about 10k on the rebuild, and to my knowledge I have footage of it running on first start up but I can't tell if it has always made the sound.
Can you guys let me know if this sound at idle is normal? I dont have anyone local to me or anybody with another 1FZ to even compare this sound to. Sounds like a hollow tin "ish" kinda clatter in the bottom end. Does not transfer to the top end, front cover, steel oil pan, trans, exhaust, pulleys, nothing. Strictly right in the middle of the upper oil pan.
I've isolated it to the upper oil pan, front of the motor and the video attached showcases the sound pretty perfect and the exact location. It doesnt change intensity/frequency when it gets more throttle. It's pretty pronounced. If anybody could just let me know that I'm not going crazy or if this is something abnormal?
Edit: Not sure if I'm freaking myself out if it's rod knock. If someone has more input/experience.
Thanks - Kyle
