Yeah…expanding threaded fasteners are certainly an option, we use those daily building vans, just not too excited about taking a 3/8” bit into that mangled hole of bolt bits and frame threads 🙈

I was replacing the telescoping motor on my 2000 LX and pulled the steering column out of its retaining sleeve, accidentally - it will go back in enough to drive but doesn't fully seat... Buying a replacement steering column is cheap ($150) but 4 times in a row the columns have been compressed...

Since its a LX470- its setup to telescope and tilt - if the standard one is compatible, that's a good back up option if I can't find the Lexus specific one. I have ordered 3 used ones and every time, its been shipped collapsed. Do you know if the 100 series would work in the LX?

I need from the knuckle up - UNCOLLAPSED. While replacing my telescopic motor I accidentally pulled mine and it seems to have come out of the sleeve - can't get it to reset itself, replacing the column seems the easiest solution.
