AC Evaporator Box and expansion valve

Well thats a great question. I have taken the truck in 2 times to have the system charged. Both times it has leaked out. The guy says they have done a dye test and "it was a gasket" then when it did it again he said they bought some special machine that figured out it was a leak in the...

AC Evaporator Box and expansion valve

I have ordered the new Denso evaporator core and expansion valve, I am not planning on recharging the system with refrigerant but having a AC shop do that portion. I was curious if I have to add oil to either of the parts that I am installing.

AC Evaporator Box and expansion valve

Mechanic said that I need a new Evaporator Box and expansion valve. Then he said $980. I gasped and figured I would give it a shot myself. I would say I have a moderate mechanical ability. (is this even a good idea ?) The OEM Evaporator Core is $330 and an aftermarket core by Denso is $88.00...

    Southern California Upholstery Recommendation

I found some original seat covers on Craigslist and had them shipped out west. Overall they are in good shape, I have soaked them and steamed them and shampoo them and pressure washed them and now they are looking pretty good. The seat metal needs to be replaced, a few vinyl repairs, and some...

Lets play "Whats that sound...FJ62 edition"

When I make a sharp turn I heard feel a large pop that seems to be coming from the back axel. I assume that it is the knuckle but I am wondering if I might be misdiagnosing it. Anyone with any thoughts. I also get a fairly high pitched sounds from the engine, only lasts about 3 seconds and...

    Gear shift and reverse lights

i justed looked that the linkage and the bushings look good and everything is tight under the truck. I think it is a circuit issue. I assume that when the truck is put into reverse there is a circuit that tells the reverse light to go on, where is this circuit completed?

    Gear shift and reverse lights

1990 FJ62 when shifting from park to reverse the post moves to far towards neutral and fails to make an electrical connection with the reverse lights. If I push the post forward the circuit is made. How would I go about adjusting the post position so that the circuit is completed or is it a...

    CruiserShack

I found a FJ that I liked after a long search. It looked good in the photos. I searched the forum for any information on the seller and I came upon this post. I think I was to excited to find a low milage FJ62 so I ignored what my gut was telling me. When I confronted Darrick about the poor...

Guys new to ih8mud and to cruiser ownership. Trying to get this rig into fine working order but not stress the stress the stuff that does not matter. I have noticed that the shifting mechanism is fairly loose and wobbly. The shaft may even be a little bent. 1. Does this need to be corrected ...
