    Remanufactured engine

You might contact Eric from Import a Part Sales: importapartsales@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/Importapart/about/?ref=page_internal He is based in Missouri and sells used car parts. He has an 80 series and, IIRC, he has a few spares. I found him from his Youtube channel...

Looking for Someone to check out a 200 in Continental

Wish I could help, but I'm based in Cincy, which is almost 3 hours away. I've got family in Wapakoneta, but that would still be an hour. You might try commissioning an auto repair shop in Continental to do an on-site inspection. I would be concerned about rust in the Ohio area. But for a 200...

Rosen aircraft sunvisor to replace sagging visor?

Ordered a pair via email on June 4, and they were delivered to Cincinnati on June 11. Each of my Toyota visors were missing a screw at the base. I was able to harvest two screws from the visor holders to mount the Rosen visors. I also got the Rosen visors with the redesigned base. Although the...

    Grounds/alternator cable upgrade?

I just replaced my engine block ground cable and starter cable. The stock gauge for those two are 2Ga, but I bumped both of them up to 1Ga and put in military style battery terminals. Del City is the place to get electrical components. Welding cable is definitely affordable, but it's...

    80 series advice and opinions

You could always try blue devil head gasket sealer as a quick and dirty fix for the 300k engine. But if you go that route, I would bypass the heater core on the cooling system to prevent any of the liquid gasket from contaminating the heater. I would get estimates on an engine rebuild for the...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Making some battery cables out of 1 awg SGX. The starter cable reads about .1 ohm on my multimeter, whereas the stock cable is reading about .2 ohms. Not too thrilled about the contact surface area for the 90 degree lug on the engine block ground compared to stock. But it will do for now...

    Cant figure out Key Fob

Hey Gary, I'm thinking about removing the Audiovox alarm system in my LC. My lone key fob now drains its battery until it dies. So when the battery is dead on the fob, I have to disarm the system from inside by setting it off. I noticed you removed some of the dash panels in your...

    won't start after replacing alternator

That's what I was thinking as well. The ECM may need some time to relearn. You could also try running the engine without any of the belts attached to isolate the noise. That storm last week was killer. We lost power for a day from a blown transformer on our block.

Do you have a multimeter? What's the voltage on the battery without anything connected to it?

    battery terminal extension

I've had others advise me that stock is 2 awg for the starter and engine block ground. On flipping the battery, I don't like the idea of running your frame ground connection underneath the positive cables. You're asking for a short. I don't think the stock ground cable will reach the frame in...
