I had a terrible time a few years ago when I replaced my starter. Went through several Denso remans that I bought from Toyota that either didn't work out of the box or lasted a very short time. Ended up getting a rebuilt Denso from eBay that's worked flawlessly so far.

The one NAPA got me was a 90 amp with the internal fan. Same with O’Reilly’s and Rock Auto.

Just went through this with my 1991. Ordered several reman 80 amp alternators with the external fan, and every one came in as the 90 amp. Ended up getting mine rebuilt at a local shop.

I have a set of gray cloth door panels from an FJ80. $200 I also have an early FJ80 gray dash with no cracks. $300 I can get pics of the dash for anyone interested. Just need to get it out of the attic. Located in Shelbyville, TN

Interesting. Some folks in my BMW groups are converting from hydroboost to vacuum assist. I've always liked the hydroboost in my old BMW's, but find the vacuum assisted brakes in my other cars, including my 80 to be just fine.

I searched repeatedly to find a part number to replace the ones that had disintegrated. Came up with nothing. I took a chance and ordered 90068-32002 which one parts cross reference shows to a 2nd gen 4Runner. They arrived today. It appears they are a bit shorter, but the correct diameter...

Found the same issue on mine yesterday. I've ordered grommets for a 4Runner. Couldn't find them as a separate part for the 80. Fingers crossed that they are the same.

Thanks so much for this. Ordered mine last Monday. It arrived from down under Saturday. Installed it today and once again I have cruise control! I am beyond stoked! Took a road trip over Thanksgiving without it and vowed never again.

I'd be interested! New to the Land Cruiser game. Recently snagged a 91. It's the newest car I own. Looks like hell as most of the clear coat has checked out, but it runs and drives pretty well. It's the newest vehicle I own. I'm a vintage BMW fanatic that decided to try something different.
