I was thinking self-insure is the way to go too. It’s a base, so the air ride liability is moot. I just wasn’t sure if there are SAIS issues like the 470s, or any other really predictable problems (cough...exhaust manifold...cough). Sounds like there are fewer issues.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to get some sound while also trying to keep the truck as family-friendly. I'll probably go catless though, since MN isn't a testing state for emissions. It'll probably add a bit more noise, but such is life. :)
