Man maybe the back pressure isn’t as crazy as Im thinking? I mean looking back at the vid I posted would you say thats abnormal?
Also do you think the check valve I got from cityracer is fine? Ive seen other check valves for sale that seem to be applicable for a wide range of LC’s from 69-80s...
So i took off the check valve from the fuel vapor separator and pressure was coming out. Starting to think that maybe this check valve is either faulty, or possibly not really meant for this ‘74 1.5F engine.
I have read that there should be a little bit of backpressure thats why the check valve...
So heres the previous post with a link to a short video of the pressure escaping. You think this is normal then?
Search results seem to indicate that it can be a bad thing , your tank could crack, fuel can spew out of the filler tube, etc… I wasn’t sure if what I’m experiencing is severe or...
I did I double, triple, quadruple checked the thing. I also question my intelligence quite often :D. I did blow around 2-5psi through the intake side and it seemed to work properly and thinking back on it the amount of air i was blowing through it definitely seemed like less pressure than what...
Hey Rush, Well last weekend I did the test you suggest and got some mixed results. I would blow the lowest pressure air into the vent lines one by one and in some cases I could hear a slight gurgling and even some sputtering of some fuel coming out of 1 of the vent lines. But for the most part...
Thank you @PabloCruise
No matter how many times I blew into the vent lines I could hear gurgling, I could also see fuel coming up the filler line too (not overflowing but slowly rising the more air I pushed in). I was blowing air at about 10-15 psi and would hear gurgling, but when blew with...
Well just took it for another test drive and guess what??!? No pressure or wooshing.
Maybe blowing into the lines with the compressor pushed out some fuel that was stuck in there after it was overfilled? The overfill happened awhile ago though…Idk just a theory.
Interesting what you said about...
So I just blew into all 4 gas vent hoses and felt air coming out of the inlet. So I’m guessing theres no clogs, the fuel vapor separator also doesn't seem to have any obstruction , blew into all ports and felt air coming out, no fuel was in it.
:bang: (Now i get why this emoji exists)
Edit...
Hey @RUSH55 so went for a drive last night, still seems to have had some pressure and gurgling when i opened the fuel cap.
Albeit I don’t know if I was smelling the toxic fumes as much and it ran with no hiccups (still not sure if the pressure in the tank and misfires are related).
Either way...
