Disassembled front axle to the CV's. Will do the wheel bearings and new birfield next week. I love fresh maintained vehicles...
If somebody is intrested in doing it himself, here is a step by step:
Ordered more stuff to again overhaul my flooded front axle. Decided to crazy:
CV's Seals, Bearings just all the stuff gets rebuild and repainted. Love to keep the 80 clean.
Meanwhile my wife used the 80 to drive me to our local dealer. Guess what arrived after 5 months?
The GDJ150 Land...
If you have not money to buy new parts (doesn't matter what parts) follow these general rules:
1. If something makes noise, moves slowly or does not move at all. Something is not right. Do not force it to work!
2. Remove the part from the truck.
3. Disassemble the part CAREFULLY as far as...
Been so busy the last couple of months and neglected the 80 series too much. Decided to disassemble the malfunctioning ARB compressor. Pretty intresting what's inside there. If your compressor is mounted in the engine bay, I highly recommend to extend your air intake for the compressor, if you...
Finally wrapped the interior in 6mm sound insulating material. Topped it all with a layer of rubber mat's. Reassembled the interior back again. Very satisfied with the results.

Drove back 180mls without any working electrics.
God bless that...

I did rebuild a couple of HDJ and HZJ 80s. Some had also air in fuel lines etc..
I recommend to remove all hoses and check thier inside where the rubber meets the metal fitting on filters/pumps etc.. A couple of times those had so many cracks that they did...
FINALLY got myself some ROADSAFE RECOVERY POINTS for the 80. They look tough and are one of the first upgrades everybody should do. Just installed them yesterday. Pretty easy installation. Made a small video covering the stuff inside the box and the installation itself.
Also planned the next...
Well, to be honest - I don't care. This truck is an HZJ. It's not EU or North America Spec. It does not have any safety features except 3 point belts. No Airbags, no ABS, no ESP - just nothing. I have and want to live with that.
We ordered a couple of days ago a new 150 Land Cruiser Prado that...
