2017 Tundra TRD PRO to Replace 2010 LX-570?

I've had the Tundra TRD-PRO for 2 months now. I really like it! Only 1900 miles but headed to Colorado Springs tomorrow so I'll have another 800 or so by the end of the week. Replaced the stock tires last month after a snowstorm. We got another 2 ft of snow 3 days later and the KO2's made a huge...

2017 Tundra TRD PRO to Replace 2010 LX-570?

Picked up the Tundra Pro yesterday. Drove it from Salt Lake City to Ouray, Co. +/- 370miles. I will be as objective as possible but I like the truck and its new and I just spent some good money on it so I better like the thing! First thought: this is nothing like the cruiser, the cruiser is...

2017 Tundra TRD PRO to Replace 2010 LX-570?

I have been trying to make the same call for a year. I have a 100 for wheeling that I love. Its 18yrs old and having a couple issues here and there, just ordered window master switch assy, but very dependable. Almost picked up a '15 200 a couple months ago and just couldn't see the light...

    stripped a steering line bolt

We have the same nightmare!! Noticed the black rubber dust boot (input shaft) is on the new gear assy but not the old. Did you swap that as well? If not the rack doesn't have to come back out just disconnect the steering shaft. Also, my local Toyota expert mechanic, my last resort but he always...

New UCAs and steering rack bushings

Ed-Last year I rebuilt the entire IFS, UCA/LCA/steering rack/all ball joints/cv axels/superpro bushings everywhere except LCA which I used Toyota bushings. All parts were Toyota new not rebuilt except the SPC UCA. I too had the clicking after about 1000 miles. Had slight wear on pass side...

CruiserYard Raffle: Set of 100 Series Brand New Rear Upper Hatch Supports

The other day I'm unloading a bunch of stuff out of the back of the Cruiser. The hatch comes down and hits me several times across my back. Later, as I'm taking my shirt off to get into bed, my wife says "What happened to your back?" Me: What? Wife: Its all scratched up! Me: What? Wife: They...

CruiserYard Raffle: Set of 100 Series Brand New Rear Upper Hatch Supports

My Hatch closes faster than my toilet seat. I tried swapping the struts and the toilet seat closed so fast I couldn't finish anything. Its a Bemis soft close; These will fit, right? Almond or biscuit color would be great!

Stan, I'm so glad to hear everything is going so well! I'm in!! I'll be a part timer for the trails but will be there as much as possible. FYI, we've had 12 1/2' of snow in town so far this year. That's as much as we got all last year and March/April are our big snow months. I know they have...

    stripped a steering line bolt

Spoke to soon! Had the Cruiser at the shop for a bunch of PM and the upper seal from the old upper gear has let loose. New rack will be ordered tomorrow! Looked at a new 200 today so the price of another rack looks really good!!

    stripped a steering line bolt

I did the same. Started by hand, everything felt good but wasn't. Took the upper gear assy off the old rack and installed on the new one. The old rack was leaking from the side shafts. The old gear assy didn't have any play so I figured it was worth a try. Has been fine for the last year. Bad...

Toyota CV Axel dying at 6 mos?

Snap ring is good. No extra play in either wheel (up/down or side/side), +/-5deg of rotation in the wheel before the other rotates. Checked with both front and just Pass side in the air. CV didn't make a sound and seemed perfectly smooth. No tire rub anywhere. Only makes the noise while slowly...

Toyota CV Axel dying at 6 mos?

I did the install. Haven't done any bearing work, on the list for this summer. Might have just moved up on the priority list. The snap ring keeps popping into my thoughts also. Actually a nicer day today, I'll go drop the tire and check. Its either work on the Cruiser or Paint a room.
