SOLD  1HDT Timing Belt and Water Pump Kit (Brand New)

I inadvertently ended up with two of these kits and didn't realize it for a while. Straight from Cruiser Outfitters in SLC. Brand new unopened box. I've had it too long to return it to them. I just replaced the parts on my 1993 HDJ81 and won't put another 100,000 kilometers on in my...

Removal of 12.5G LRA Tank for replacement of Evap Canister

Thank you for this timely thread. After 4.5 trouble free years with the LRA 12.5 tank I started getting the EVAP codes a couple weeks ago. I changed the vent tube filter and switched to 5/8" line hoping that would fix it. Reset the codes and all was well until the next fuel fill up. The CEL...

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

The oil filter wrench is $5 at Wal-Mart. Also-you could probably get some channel locks on it since I assume the old housing will be going in the trash. It wouldn't matter if you mangled it up a bit.

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

It wouldn't even unlatch to open manually. I was able to get it to work by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then re-connecting it. I found an old thread that mentioned something about the lock not initializing when the new battery was installed. So-for future reference, if the...

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

This is SQOD so don't hesitate to ask. I did double/triple check the button and even read through the manual to see if I was missing something. The orange bit is exposed. I tried it both ways just for fun. I figure it has to be something simple I'm missing.

SQOD Squad - Stupid Question Of the Day

Battery died. I put in a new one and now the rear hatch won't open. It's on a 2018. I push the button on the key and get a long beep but nothing happens. Same result with the button on the dash. I searched a little but but kept getting to threads about manually opening the rear hatch with a...

    Official 1HD-T 1HD-FT 1HD-FTE and 1HZ BEB thread

I would start sending the oil to Blackstone every 10,000 km's. If you see increased levels of bearing material in the oil as you approach the 100km mark then there is your answer. There doesn't seem to be a consensus. Some people say one and done, others say every 100,000 kilometers.

    Official 1HD-T 1HD-FT 1HD-FTE and 1HZ BEB thread

Here are a couple pictures of mine. 1993 HDJ81 200,000 km's. Not sure if they were already replaced once but I doubt it. Cylinders 5 and 6 looked pretty bad the rest looked great.

    Official 1HD-T 1HD-FT 1HD-FTE and 1HZ BEB thread

Getting ready to knock this job out over the weekend. Help me understand the Plastigage step. What do you do if it is outside of specs? Different size bearings?

Does someone make a receiver hitch that bolts to rear crossmember

How did you get it for $46? Have you received it yet-does it align with the factory holes in the bumper/crossmember? Thanks

    Towing Capacity

Here is another vote to rent a truck from U-Haul. You will be over 5,000 pounds with the mustang and any decent car hauler. I'm all about saving a couple hundred bucks but It's not worth the wear and tear on your 80. And your 14 hour drive turns in to a 20 hour drive because you are going 45 MPH.

200 Series Hitch Receiver and Rear Camera Surprise

Anyone else find it odd that the cameras on the Tacoma/Tundra/Sequoia are way better than the flagship LC? Not just the off-center placement but the resolution is much better. The back-up cam on the Land Cruiser seems like an afterthought.

    12.5 gallons aux tank

I installed the 12.5 gallon on my 2018 about two years ago and couldn't be happier. No codes, no squeaks etc... I did not upgrade any of the parts from LRA. I figure I will upgrade the pump when or if the one that comes in the kit ever fails. This is a game changer on road trips with two...

Local (Utah) 80 Series Diesel Specialists?

No emissions test to license mine in SL County. I think since they test by hooking a scanner up to the OBD port that everything pre-1997 is exempt. Don't quote me on that but I think that is how it works.

Local (Utah) 80 Series Diesel Specialists?

Land Cruisers Direct seem to be hit and miss but he knows his stuff. I think it's just a one man shop with no coverage when he takes time off. Cruiser Outfitters can find any part and have a ton of knowledge. State Automotive in Midvale know their way around diesel Cruisers as well. I'd say...
