Not OP, I've been fighting P0171 for a few months, tried the same as in first post. Shop says fuel pump is going out, they are replacing it now. I guess 350k miles on a fuel pump is not bad. I will report back. Follow-up: fuel pump replaced, codes gone, truck runs great. Yay.

Did the same sort of mod, cut the clearance hole but then used the 3D printer to print new offset discs. Embarrassingly, first time I did that I printed a volleyball logo as high school daughter was using it as a daily and that was her life then. Just printed new ones as she is older and wiser...

Just another datum point from a very casual mechanic. 99LC, 350k miles. Got the P0171 code popping up, started with the basics from this post and others. Cleaned and then replaced the MAF, no change. Replaced the PCV valve, all good! 2 weeks passed, no code. Pretty sure both were original...

If you make it to 350k, your "D" light starts working again.

I'm not seeing any discussions about this, surely I'm not the only one with a daughter so very proud of refilling the fluid herself but forgetting to reinstall the cap? I see no part numbers in the parts diagrams, maybe it only comes with the filler neck? I'll 3d print one tomorrow if no one...

I'm big on LED's, always replace them on my old motorcycles. But I can't bring myself to do that with the LC. 1999 model, 350,000 miles, and like so much on this beast, all rear bulbs are original. Have never touched them. Makes me smile.

Apparently if you love and care for your 100 long enough, the D light comes back on. First time lit since I've bought it in 2001. Must be enjoying its time in Hawaii.
