Keys, difference between standard and spare.

Thanks for the reply. It’s actually a European spec key. But it makes sense. In tapped the key back together without the electronics inside. I kept the electronics apart from the key. I assume (or I hope) the transponder is stil with the electronics. I will test Theo’s before ordering a new...

Keys, difference between standard and spare.

Hi All, Will on a trip, I dropped my key and the already flimsy hosing broke in two and all the electronics fell out. No time to do a proper fix, I set the electronics aside and tapped the housing together. And the next thing really intrigued me, and I hope someone can explain this to me. The...

FAQ How-To: TechStream In 5 Minutes

I tried to connect the car to a OBD2 scanner. But as it is from 2000 and a European delivered car, it’s not OBD2 compliant, which I only found out after I tried to connect it. After the failed connection it threw the code. Later a read on the forum somewhere that this happened to someone...

FAQ How-To: TechStream In 5 Minutes

Solved it, the old version 8 and XP didn't seem to connect properly to the cable. Found a source for Techstream v12, installed it on Windows 10 in the Virtual Box. All works fine now, and I was able to preform a Zero Point Calibration.

FAQ How-To: TechStream In 5 Minutes

Hi All, I installed the Virtual Box and followed the instructions in the first post. Got everything to work and it connects to the vehicle. But when I want to read the ECU for the ABS/VSC/TRAC it just keeps reading for over 10 minutes. Looks like its not responding any more, or is the...

Replacing springs in the drivers seat

Hi Everyone, The drivers seat of my 2000 LC (130k miles) is sagging on the left side. I'm planning on replacing the foam. Read a lot of threads on how to do this. But I couldn't find anything on the springs in the seat, and I was wondering if these could become sloppy on one side and could be...

Rear too high after lift kit install

This is what the truck looked like before. Front 19.7" from center hub to fender, back 22.2" from center hub to fender. Added 550 lbs of gravel in the back and it dropped about an inch in the back (Front 19.7" from center hub to fender, back 21.3" from center hud to fender). Still looks a...

Rear too high after lift kit install

Thanks for the reply and photo's. The conversion was done a few month ago, and only have driven it for about a 100 miles, but it didn't settle much. Will put some bags of gravel in the back for a few weeks, drive some more and see what it does. Thanks

Rear too high after lift kit install

I've got the same problem as the OP, but with a different brand of shocks and springs. After the AHC was removed it got new Terrain Tamer springs and Koni Raid shocks. But has the same amount of rake as the OP. When I asked the shop, they told me it has to settle a bit. How much can you expect...

Why are torsion bars so vilified? And were Land Cruisers ever designed for recreational off-roading?

So, if we follow this trend, the forecast is there fore that in 2025 my 2000 100 series LC will be the best ever made

Family of 6 Touring / Camping - Keep LC100 or Buy Excursion?

I would always prefer a trailer with a tent over a RTT on the vehicle. Driving with a trailer isn’t as bad as a lot of people make you believe. And it gives you the freedom to setup camp and still be able to use the car to explore the surroundings .
