Lost track of how many times this one has been for sale. It does sursprise me that it still has the original rear license plate bracket. Very few still them intact at this point.

Finally got the VIN, consecutive to #144 if anyone is interested.

That should be criminal

I just went to update the list... And ya already did it Jim :)

I don't think it's all that bad... Good base to start from to make a DD fj25 ... Correct no bezel remove a few things and correct some paint ... And done ... That easy :)

I am FJ25 owner.

I am the current owner of this FJ25. I purchased it from a friend of mine last year when it was for sale. FYI to "Living in the Past" it has only been for sale twice, once last year when I purchased it and now so not sure what you are talking about with lost track of how many times it's been for sale  . My friend is the one who did the resto on it. He is the same guy who did the resto on the Burgundy 1959 FJ25 seen several places online. That one was done to be original and was sold to some guy in Florida who I believe resold it on eBay shortly after for a profit. This one he got as a basket case missing some parts and was not worth restoring to original, and he actually built it to the previous owners specifications. That's why it's the ugly yellow color and that is why it has a V8. It had no engine when he got it. It was basically a rolling chassis. I just wanted to put that out there for all the people questioning why it is the way it is and why it has some FJ40 parts. I think if it was all there like the Burgundy 1959 one he would have went that direction. This one is actually modeled after an FJ40 that he restored for his now ex-wife. I can tell by some of the comment here that this is not for everyone. Actually I had plans to make several changes to it myself because it is not exactly to my taste either. But I was not planning on going stock because in my opinion it's not really worth it, at least not for me. Anyway it's a great base to start with for someone who wants to make a fun unique classic ride, but as I mentioned in my CL ad it is not stock by any means and if that is what you are looking for, this ain't it.

the ad is a bit deceiving, so that may have a few people noticing it more than normal

"Selling this nicely restored 1960 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ25." it's not restored. it's modified.

"These are very rare and not completely the same as later model FJ40s." well, i guess a highly modified 25 is still rarish

"No I do not have a hard top and doors for it,this version was not equipped that way" it probably did have a top and doors and they are long gone....they were rare, along with the 25 bib, cluster, tbird emblem, rims, taillights, various engine parts

that said, if it's anywhere near as clean as it looks, it could be a nice starter. at least your friend didn't just send it off to the crusher and instead put another cruiser n the road. i personally wouldn't pay anywhere near that price for it, but maybe someone will. glws.

If you check the "counting the 25s" thread which is at the top of the page in the main 25 section, page 2 #20 is this vehicle. This info was gathered from a CL ad back in 09. Not going search for all the times it was linked to a ad but your friend had been trying sell it for a while. Just link the Burgundy 59. It's been on here many times. When the 25 section created here on Mud (05) it was owned by a guy named Steve. He purchased it off Ebay. He sold it a few years back on the FJCruiser forum. That has sold or tried to sell it since. Not many restored 25s around so with internet not to hard to follow the history.

That said not sure why you got upset. Wasn't knocking the 25 just saying it has show up in the past for sale a number of times. If you friend didn't tell you he had been trying to sell it before that's on him.

Wow, some people really have too much time on their hands. Not trying to be deceiving, just telling it like it is. Sorry if my wording is not 100% perfect. Bottom line it is what it is. I have seen a lot worse and a lot more bastardized rigs out there. At least it's not a Jeep . Just don't appreciate some of the comments, but hey I guess that is what a forum is for. Anyway, cheers  to all the FJ guys out there.

 Cheers to you, even though your 25 isn't stock you're still welcome here. Also interesting to get that back history with the previous owner. PM me if anything is particularly inaccurate or bothers you, I'll clean up the thread later. Lately I've been pretty erratic about that.
