I’m selling my baby. “Lando” has been a pavement princess since I bought her about ten years ago from Kia dealer who took it as a trade from the original owner in Vernon, BC (left hand drive Canadian diesel). Unlike my first 60-series, it was in excellent condition with little rust and low kilometers (about 200K). It now has 227,000 km and had the body work done professionally about seven years ago (I’ve got pictures somewhere). It’s always been stored in winter but rust is coming through again on Lando’s haunches. There was frame rust where the front rear leaf spring ties into the frame but the bodyman repaired that. There is no other frame rust. Everything works well as I’ve kept maintenance up at ProActive Auto in Calgary, which specializes in Landcruisers. Interior is solid. The only wear is the side of the drivers seat and a crack in the dashboard speakers cover. The 2H diesel engine is also solid and has an aftermarket turbo limited to 7 psi boost to eliminate risk of overheating. There is adequate power to turn the 33” KO2’s, but not a whole lot more. Lando could be registered as a “classic” vehicle if you took off the rear window tint and centreline rims as everything else is stock and clean. It’s the fancy “G” series, which unfortunately means it has an automatic transmission. That’s about it. If you are American its a bargain given the exchange rate and there’s no problem getting it across the border as its >25 years old.
