I know, this has been beat to death but in this thread, https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/574066-need-pics.html (I didn't want to totally hijack the thread so I started this one :D) jamisobe posted up some pics of his 80 with some sweet fender flares...

According to hime Baktasht at EMSPowered are making some. I sent Baktasht a message and haven't heard anything back, anyone else know anything about these???

Those flares are a passenger side mock up by Baktasht at EMSPowered. The driver side isn't done yet. They still need some work, but I should have the completed full set soon. No big deal for me since I haven't paid them anything and I have one side that I really like. They are solid and they give way if you push on them.

They plan on doing a first run of 10 for testing as soon as some details are worked out. They are keeping a waiting list for only 10 trucks, but they might still have some slots.

Those are so awesome. However I can guess what the price will be and I think I have other things higher on the list. But one day...

I am somewhat afraid of that as well. I got a hold of a guy a while back in the Indonesia area and it was going to cost $1,000+ to get a set from over there. I am hoping to be a little closer to the $300-$500 range??? We will see.

I'm not really sure what is going on but Timber788 is claiming he is making the fender flares https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/583458-how-do-you-remove-fender-flares.html, when jamisobe said EMS was going to make them???

I spoke with Baktasht and he said they were still in development. If he ever gets back to me about the headers and exhaust I ordered then I can ask him again about their availability. I got my rig tore apart and we've been trying to reach him for weeks. Tried his work phone, cell phone, pm, and email. He must be very busy.

Thanks Jrob. Baktasht and Mark at EMSPowered do fantastic work and they have been very good friends as I make modifications to my truck. They have also been helping me to develop flare kits for those who are interested.

As many are aware EMSPowered is very busy with various projects and a few of those projects are related to Land Cruisers. Most of their projects have nothing to do with Land Cruisers or off road capable vehicles, but Baktasht has a love for Land Cruisers which is fortunate for many of us.

Due to the amount of work that Baktasht and Mark have in process I have been given the flares project. When the time is right these flares will be available through EMSPowered, but at the moment start up costs are high and and preparation has been tedious.

For those who are interested, stay tuned for developments that are forthcoming in 2-3 weeks (this is not a promise, but an estimate). The first offerings will be up for bid on ebay. As larger production runs become possible availability will increase, and group orders will be offered. 2 versions will be available eventually. The first version specifically for 91-92 trucks and a 2nd bolt on option for 93-97 trucks.

Just spoke with Baktasht. He is really busy and about to have a baby. My headers and exhaust are shipping end of next week!!! He just told me exactly what Jamisobe said in his post about the flares, they're gonna be sweet. Keep an eye out for my build thread in 3-4 weeks and you can see what EMS black ceramic coated headers and exhaust look like installed. Hey Jamisobe, hit me when the flares for the 97 are ready and I'll take a set.

Yes! baktasht just PM'd me a told me the same thing, I can't wait to see how this all comes out. I am sure that there will be a great interest for the 97-93 styles.

Thanks for doing the leg work on this!

Subscribed. I am looking for flares.

On another note.

Will the EMSPowered exhaust fit fine with MT sliders and aftermarket rear bumpers?

I would buy a set of these flares also...especially if they mounted to the factory holes/tabs

In for feedback:popcorn:

Are these flares any wider than stock ones? Need more deets!
No, the first ones offered will be the width of 91-92 truck flares which are slightly more narrow than 93-97 flares. Also, to fit these flares to a 93-97 truck will require a small amount of grinding on the fender tabs already present.

The second version should be ready by the end of the summer and they will be the same width as 93-97 flares. They should not require any modification of the fender tabs and mud flaps from 93-97 trucks will also bolt up without any modification.

Neither set will use OEM mounting. They will be bolted on through the pockets and will be more durable.

So the end of summer and I can put some of these on. How many are you making on the first run?

Not to hijack but I have an EMS oiled filter and it is fantastic! Will have write up soon. I guess what I'm saying is that, Baktash doesn't do things half way.

That said, I am sure that the flares will be quality

This is the first set of flares being offered for the 80 series truck. 91-92 mud flaps/running boards will bolt up, but 93-97 flares/running boards would require modification. See the description in the Ebay ad...

Sweet, I wasn't expecting them that fast!

I don't have mud flaps or running boards, but do have sliders on my 96. Would I be able to bolt these up with no modifications?

If your sliders or rear bumper wouldn't interfere with OEM FZJ80 flares(without flaps) you would not need to make any modifications other than a little grinding on the metal tabs on the fenders used to fasten the OEM flares.
