Jamisobe, finding this thread brought tears to my eyes! You don't know how long I have waited for someone to make some pocket flares for 80 series (that you can actually obtain)! Can't wait for the 93-97 flares to come out later this summer! Thank you!

BTW, what material are these? Urethane? ABS? Fiberglass? I'm hoping for something that can bend without breaking if you know what I mean...

The flares are made with a high quality fiberglass that uses a polymer resin. The material is very strong and allows flex compared to OEM flares that are made of rigid plastic. The flares are much more durable than OEM flares due to this material and the way they are fastened to the fenders. They will take a lot more punishment without breaking.

Any idea a price range so I know how much to start saving? Am I assuming correctly that they will be black but paintable?

I am still incurring costs as I prepare to have more made. The cost for me has risen much higher than initially expected, but it is still too early to know where the price point has to be. The final price will have to be at least $1000 which is more than I had envisioned, but still far less than new Toyota flares. This will not be a cheap solution to the stock fender flare problem, but it will be a very fine solution that will keep tires covered, noise down in the truck, and provide a modern, aggressive look. The flares themselves are far more durable than the OEM plastic flares which means they will withstand much more abuse without breaking, and they will actually be repairable if they do sustain damage.

I will have one more 91-92 set to sell in about 2-3 weeks. After that I should have a 93-97 specific set ready for sale and that will be in about 2 months. Initially I expected to be able to have more produced faster, but that isn't possible.

During the remainder of this year, after the first 3 sets are sold, I should be able to do about 2 sets per month. Before the 3rd set is ready to sell, I still need to purchase bulk trim and fasteners. The hardware and gaskets are less pricey than the actual flares, but still a significant cost. The flares themselves are made by hand and require high quality material to be purchased for their production.

Great info, thanks!

Paintable black?
I have already requested that we move to a darker primer black than this first set. Personally, I would give them a top coat of flat or satin black rather than run them as primer only. The finish will look better and still be easy to touch up after a day on the trails.

Sorry to spendy and won't do business with EMS .

These flares are not being offered by EMS although I very much appreciate Baktasht who did assist me in the project.

Sorry that they cannot be cheaper. The flare sets are hand made one at a time and being done by a craftsman who is working for me.

Ad says you're not shipping to Canada.... is that real ?
If the purchaser contacts me and agrees to pay the difference in the higher shipping cost I will ship to any part of Canada.

I need to go through the process so I can better predict what shipping costs will be anywhere.

My 92 flares are already fiberglass and I can attest to the fact they don't hold to that well. For $1k these need to be near indestructible.
These flares are not indestructible, but they are made of a very high quality fiberglass that is polymer based, flexible, very strong and repairable unlike the OEM plastic. Also, as long as the flares are still being produced I would complete partial orders for one off replacement flares if ever needed.

An agreement was reached to sell this first set of flares for a certain price in exchange for ending the auction. The 2nd set of flares should be available for sale by the end of this week/the begining of next week.

91-92 are fiberglass, not plastic.

Ok.

93-97 are plastic. 91-92 are an older type of fiberglass that is now 20 years old.

These flares are a very strong and flexible polymer fiberglass, fresh out of the molds and bolted to the fenders from the outside via Torx hardware. There are no plastic (or fiberglass tabs) or plastic buttons holding these flares to the fenders.

The first set sold at a higher price in exchange for ending the auction.

I'll post pics and give my two cents on the flares when I open the boxes later this week. Thank you Baktasht and Jamisobe for working together along with their local fiberglass guy to produce something unlike I've been able to find elsewhere. I appreciate the efforts of everyone on this forum to introduce new products for our vehicles. I also understand that you can't expect a locally made, limited production item to be priced similiar to a product made by a large company that outsources production to China. I don't think Jamisobe is gonna retire off of the slim margin he makes selling a few sets of fender flares per month. Obviously he's doing it to hook us up on something cool he came across.
