Do my rock sliders need more gussets

Hi guys,
I am building my rock sliders for my 97 landcruiser.

They are made of 3/16 inch thick square and rectangular tubing. the side round tube 1.5 inch diameter .120 wall Hrew.

What you guys think?

Do you think they need more gussets?

I am thinking of gusseting where the square tubing and the rectangular tubing meet especially on the driver side (the one without the cat guard) , since it is so long.

may just add some gussets to the driver's side long piece.

don't add any more to them.
how far from the rocker do they sit?
they will flex a bit and that's what you want.
make them to stiff and something will break.

Lenny, I wheeled some sliders made with box steel for a long time, they didn't flex much under my 62. The DOM tubes I have now flex a lot. I think you are fine. Paint and bolt.

If you're any kind of welder you've already got overkill going on. Negative on additional gussets. Nice by the way.

With the box supports, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

They're plenty beefy. I wouldn't add any more gussets. Just paint 'em and bolt 'em on!

Nice work BTW. They are similar to what I build, and they have been standing up nicely.

You can fish plate the sides where you have butt welded the box tube together. That way can distribute the load better upon impact instead of all the stress going straight to the welded area.
