Hello

I have searched and not really found anything. I was just wondering what kind of stuff do you guys run off the engine bay power outlet?

Mine has 2x 10 amp fuses and one 20 amp fuse. I'm no electrician - so how much power could I connect to it? (I know that question is gonna get me flamed:))

Some pics - the cover haha

It sits just behind the washer bottle

Are you sure it's factory? My truck has nothing like that...

Definately factory fit - its all proper Toyota connectors and bundled wires. They look to be quite thick cable too.

Nice... Is there a Toyota part #?

I wish I got some cool overseas options in my cruiser :(

I don't think any of the NA spec trucks came with that option, but it looks pretty handy.

x2 for sure

I've been under the hood of more than a few FZJ's and I've never seen anything like that.

I definitely have not seen one of those on the LX. We only get the neutered 80 series here in NA. I'm surprised Toyota thought we could "handle" F/R factory lockers, well at least for 4 short years anyway.

I thought it was 5 years (93 through 97 inclusive)...but back to the OP's question:

Amps = Watts/Volts

If your system is 12 volts for example and you wanted to connect 2 100W auxillary lights then you would need at least a 16.7Amp circuit (fuse). Obviously you always round up, so practically speaking you would need a 20Amp circuit for those lights.

Must be a foriegn market thing. My JDM 80 series has the same aux power outlet, in close to the same place.

Got the same box on mine. If I remember correct, one is perament live, the other are inigition lives. I use one to work the split charge relay for the 3rd battery.

I'd definitely like to see a part number on that one. I wonder if cdan can get them... :hhmm:

There's a plug union right there by the washer bottle, I wonder if this box would just plug in line?

Boyo, could you get better/closer pics of the plugs/wires running to and from that box?

Thanks!

Here's the EPC line drawings and part numbers. Same number for 90-97 80 series.
Parts are no good on USA Toyota parts system.
Check with Mot or Dave at Japan 4x4.
We have a box full of these Aux fuse boxes but they are all JDM J6/J7 series w/ pre 1990 round plugs.
EPC 80aux fuse block.webp
