Also, on the POR15 info, the wet cardboard on the floor is for a reason. I have found POR15 likes to go down and cure in high humidity. The wet cardboard helps provide that.

I thought the Pesky and Pesky bypass neighbor were easy-peasy with the throttle body off and the front left wheel and skirts removed. I was expecting Armageddon but pleasantly disappointed.
Why remove the tube? It can hang out there forever with the bypass and confuse the heck out of the new owner years later which will generate a new post "what is this tube and why is it not connected to anything"
Judging by the timestamps on my photos, I spent two days on the first side, then another day on the second side. That was going very slowly while referencing the FSM, replacing the wheel and trunnion bearings, axle seals, and swapping out the...
I doubt that they R & R'd the timing cover it's self for only 300 bucks. I can believe a crank seal would cost that. I gotta go a whole bunch deeper than that. :'(
Any of you guys pulled a 1FZ timing cover without removing the cylinder...
I have the King 2.5s on my 200 as well and I'm pretty happy with the ride. I'll probably add more rebound damping when they go in for rebuild or just go with 3.0s.
A little backstory on this Cruiser: A guy that lives behind me daily drove this...
Couple more pics for today, the sun is on this side of the Cruiser late in the day.
There was a tiny bit of body damage in front of the tail light in the quarter panel. We beat that out before primer. 😉

So they were not actually flat black in my opinion just all the years has turned them flat. I have done them in flat and do think they look good though.
I should of took a picture of the front of the frame that has had oil and p/s fluid on it...
I think we got real lucky with this body. There is virtually zero parking lot or trail rash down the sides.
That means very minimal if any body filler. 😊

Hey my man, we are not acid dipping or paint dipping. This is a build thread so I/we would prefer if we stick to this build vs a bunch of chat in this thread.
👍

Check the linkage first for full engagement of the low range detent shift position and for no contact or interference with the body sheet metal or other chassis components. Also check your motor mounts to see that they are not separated and...
Correct, the narrow band and computer can’t correct fast enough to keep a set air fuel ratio so what Toyota (and most manufacturers of the time) did was have what is called closed loop fueling and open loop fueling. Closed loop is moderate load...
I soaked with free all for a week or so and was able to break them free relatively easy, on install I used ample anti seize so they would be easy to take out if I ever had to again. When you install it’s almost impossible to have the rear studs...
I got mine out with an air impact, but I had to pull the head to get the rear three out. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily they came out. There are folks who've posted their success at removing the exhaust manifolds without removing the...
You're dealing with what is close to 30 year old technology, the O2 sensors used in the 80 series are narrow band not wide band, and even think about the computer the truck is running. Compare a home PC to one from 30 years ago. The technology...
I think you are over thinking this. If the machine shop took 20 thousandths off in block and head, I would get a 60 thousandth head gasket. The actual compression change is going to be very negligible this is a tractor not a race car. IMO
