There's a plug union right there by the washer bottle, I wonder if this box would just plug in line?

Boyo, could you get better/closer pics of the plugs/wires running to and from that box?

Thanks!

Nak

Here's the EPC line drawings and part numbers. Same number for 90-97 80 series.
Parts are no good on USA Toyota parts system.
Check with Mot or Dave at Japan 4x4.
We have a box full of these Aux fuse boxes but they are all JDM J6/J7 series w/ pre 1990 round plugs.

any way for us 60/62 guys to get some of those? if I read right a pre 90 should have the correct round plug,,

one could refit them to work on the US spec 80 by changing the connector, I think marshall in the upstate cruisers found a place that sells connectors for toyota,,,, or are the stock wires not there? I am going out to check my 88 62 now..... this would be super cool to have pre wired in!!

please pm me

ok HIjack--->off back to topic....................

what I would use it for is to power the relays for my extra lights, what I use a fuse block for now is for the CB, the aux lights, the wiring upgrade kit, the power that runs to the back of the cruiser, I wired some aux cig lighter outlets to the dash, I am wiring some under hood lights and plan on using the aux box for those LED's

Well as usual, it appears that Mr. T didn't think the NA market would want these. I just out and looked at my truck and there aren't any unused plugs where a fuse box would have been

In my 88 fj 62 on the drivers side (very near the alternator) there is an un-used blue round plug with 2 wires one is white, one is red with yellow stripe. I have not checked voltage on this, but am hoping it is a feed for this power box.

I'll try to check voltage on this later today and post up, Ill link this to the 60 section too, if I find this is a power feed, maybe there is a market for that box of aux power boxes you have 70sguy....

I would think there would be 3 or more wires, one hot all the time, one hot on when the acc is on, the ground could be a tab to the mounting screw

Can you be more specific about the terminals on your aux box?
ACC= accessory hot only when the key is turned to acc or when the vehicle is running?
IG??? my guess is ignition but would that mean it is hot only while the engine is running? that does not make sense to me
+B Positive battery? always hot?

is the other a - E? it is hard to tell from the picture...is that the ground------oh I got it you guys call it "EARTH" and - so it would be "- Earth"

mmmmm what fridge do u have? do diesels come with two batts as standard?

Diesels are 24v (so two batteries).

As above, 24V starting so 2 batteries as standard.

The fridge I have is a Minus 40 made in south africa. Looks like a National Luna, as it is stainless steel on the out side. Its about 40-45l and can be run at -2 for 3 days off of the battery without recharging. But I plan to fit a solar pannel in the side window to top the battery up.

I could have 2 fuse panels one ignition and one hot all the time, but to me there is something neat about having a toyota part that is a plug and play not a "find a hot line, find a hot ignition line, splice, find a place to mount a box, and hope all the wires are the right gauge,,,,,,)vs. plug and play and find a mounting point,, that is IF the blue 2 wire connector is the right one

Hmmm - I think I need one of those.

Wow... that is one of the few spots left under my hood where I don't already have something mounted. I've been storing an extra quart of oil there.

Something like this... I wish we in NA at least had a plug for it. Having a ready source for ignition switched power would be nice.

Hmmmm Not so

Diesels are 24v (so two batteries).

Diesels at least JDM diesels are 24 volt starting but all the other electrics are 12 volt.

Both my trucks have the Factory Auxilliary power boxes but I have seen a 94 80 here in NZ that did not have one so some get them and somw don't. I have also seen the outlet box aon at least 1 60 series truck as well.
Good to see that the pictures show that there is a way to get the wires into the box from underneath. I have actuall seen a couple where people cut a hole in the lid.
