I'm beginning to plan my dual battery setup, however, I'm kind of confused on some bits, and there are a few things I still need to know:
I hope this all makes sense. I've been poring over the archives and Dual Battery FAQ for several days/weeks/months, but some seem a bit complicated/confusing, hence this thread.
Also, I don't plan on adding a winch any time soon or any extremely high-load device. I just need a good, reliable, simple setup so that when I'm deep in the canyon or the middle of Little Sahara, my power supply is the last thing I worry about.
Thanks in advance,

- I want a simple system where I can combine the batteries if needed, for a self-jump or something. Manual switches are fine, I don't mind opening my hood... Who would offer such a switch? Or would I need a switch/isolator combo? <--this is the part I'm confused about, the whole isolator thing
- Now, with my truck being a 1991, the battery is on the USPS, with a bunch of emissions crap on the other side (can't remove; illegal). What have other 91-92 owners done, if any, to get a tray over there? I really don't want to stick a battery in the cargo area or underneath the truck...
- What are the different battery sizes that will fit into the stock 91-92 tray? Group 24 (or 27, I forget) is the size I've previously used, but from what I've seen, some manufacturers use a different system....correct me if I'm wrong. And 24/27 is just, well...too small.
