Someone asked for a close up pic of the gutter mounts I made me.

The backup lights work great

Tonight I also installed some extra dome lights under both sides of the dashboard to light up the floor. They turn on with the original dome lights in the top.

I like it! Nice work.

Nice lights! How did you wire up the lights to trigger from the domes?

I´m using the same way as seen in this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=133675 (but using the light in the top) to get the ground for the extra lights, then I´m using 12 volt permanent on the other side of the light-bulb socket.

I´m using these sockets made by Hella.

Nice...I was thinking about doing the same thing with the floor lights.

Did you buy a kit?

Disregard...A little late on the post!

thanks for the close up on the mounts, is there a way to tighten them other than the single bolt, or maybe its not needed

Nicley done...why can't manufacturers make a rack that is as flush to the roofline like yours....good job.

excellent work.

Yeah...really nice fab work...how did you line up the mounts when you went to weld them on? Did you clamp them onto the gutter then place the pipes and weld while on the vehicle? You must have access to metal work equipment such has brakes etc.??

First I made the rack it self, then I used some wood blocks and placed them on the roof (the paint is bad anyway). Placed the rack on the wood blocks and made the gutter mounts. Welded them just enough to hold the in place. Removed the rack from the top and welded properly.

Yes I´m working in shop, where I have access to some tools ;)

To day I replaced the domelights in the top and under the dash with led lights. I wrote something about that in the "LED crazy" thread.

Where didnyou run the wires to for the lights

What exactly are you going to use this rack for?

This rack has 4 different things to do.
1. To hold the backup lights in place.
2. To carry my snowboard, I have some Thule ski carriers that can be attached to the rack. See pic below.
3. To look good on the truck.
4. To hold a flag pole ;) I haven´t made the pole yet but I will.
