This evening I spent some time working on the interior lights in the back of my 81.
My cruiser has one original light in the back, but it is small and did not light up as much area I wanted. I wanted light that would light up the back of my truck and some area behind the car at the same time.
I came up with a solution I wanted to share with you guys
Earlyer to day I bought me two small halogen ligths both with 12volt 20watt bulp.
These light I installed in the plastic cover inside the rear hatch.
These lights area powered from my aux fuse block, powered with a aux battery located under the hood.
Then I used the ground side of the lightbulp in the original interior light to control a 12 volt relay to turn the new lights on and off. I soldiered a wire to the inside of the light.
The relay is located behind the plasic cover on the passanger side in the back.
This way the new light turn on and off with the original light, when I open the rear hatch. They light up the back of the car and the ground around it. To me this is perfect
Extra pic of my rear door speaker setup. I´m using a 6x9 alpine speakers in the rear doors. I made me a plate from 12mm MDF, covered with carpet to hold the speakers. I cut away part of the original door panel.
One pic of my dashboard, my Alpine head unit, my ICOM VHF radio below the Alpine and a the Mobira NMT phone
