OK, so today I had the rig tinted (weird stuff)

Thing is, from the inside, the factory tinted windows don't look nearly as dark as the front windows

I thought they would be darker cause it's basically tint over tint
You checked, and are sure they tinted all the way around?? Sounds like they only did the fronts...

They probably tinted the rear ones less in an attempt to make them equal. Your best bet to find out what's going on is to ask them, not us.

oh... this could be because...

the fact window tint has some bronze metallic in it... so it reflects more, so it almost gives a lighter look from the outside looking in... atleast that's how mine appears...

i'm suprised the tint shop tinted over the already tinted rear windows. when i asked my local tint shop, they said it wouldnt work well. post some pics lets see how it looks.

Already spoke to the tint shop and they used Limo all around, but said that the bronze in the factory tint causes it to do this....

Thing is, my Previa had factory bronze tint and and got the opposite results  (it was darker in the rear)

Anyhoo, here are some pix:

From the outside looking in, the rear is harder to see through cause it gives more of a reflection, but from the inside looking out, you can clearly see how much lighter the rear windows are compared to front

Not really a big deal, just curious why it's the complete opposite of how my Previa turned out (same shop did the van as well)

I hope you didnt go all th way down the 5% tint. I did that on my Nissan Frontier and at night I couldnt see out the windows. Not even the mirrors so to chance lanes I would have to roll my window down. I found that 15% works great though.

They either lied so they wouldn't have to do your rear sliders or they don't know what they're talking about. I used to tint windows and there's no problem tinting over factory tint.

From the pics (and maybe it's just the pics) it really does not appear they tinted the rear windows at all, especially when viewing them from the inside ..... not too mention it does not make sense that the tinting over existing tint being lighter then the tint alone. I'd say you need to take a CLOSE look at the rears and see if they did indeed tint them.

Some people need the tint I guess, but that does not look very good, IMHO. I think the best would be if the fronts were tinted to match the stock back windows, with the same metallic, and not too dark.

It's definitely tinted (air bubbles and all lol)

Here's a shot of the s***ty ass trim job they did with the rear sliders

For me, the darker it is, the better as I'm very sensative to bright light :frown:

Have to wear sunglasses all the time or my eyes will swell shut :crybaby:

Besides, the tint makes it easier for the kids to watch DVD's during the day and keep them out of my hair while I'm driving :grinpimp:

What % shade would be required to make the front match the rear windows? I wouldn't mind having just a UV coating in order to cut down the heat inside. I don't necessarily need it to be darker.
