Ok here is the deal, I have already decided I am NOT going to do the roll on stuff myself. I am going to go the Line-X route this time around even though I've had good luck with Rhino in the past.

Here is my dilemma: I have a white truck with a brown interior. We considered painting the truck gray and changing the interior color but figured that was just dumb, so its going to stay what it is. We are 100% committed to going with black lining on the outside of the truck on the lower body line all the way around the truck. Now we also want to line the inside of the truck. Thus the dilemma.

Do we line the brown/beige interior with a brown/beige rhino lining? Or should we do it black? We are really worried about how it will look with a black floor and brown interior.

To add another layer to it I JUST got my WagonGear side panels which are of course black and I am in line to get my tailgate which of course is also black.

Then next question is how high to go with it? I am thinking about either going to the window line with it or going just covering the floor. What say you?

My truck now.

I'd say just cover the floor. Going up the D pillar could get complicated with the headliner up higher.

feels like i'm looking into the back of my truck. only diff is mine's an 84. i'm planning to do the same w/ the interior. i'd just do the floor and if cash allows get some of those slick storage panels from kevinmrowland.

Well I just got the panels in yesterday :D

But what about color??? Go black or go brown/beige??? What about the back of the seat??? thinking about lining that as well.

2x floor only

i view the back as a cargo area separate from the rest of the interior. i'm planning on going black on the floor. i also removed the carpet backing from the seat and think i'll probly go with black carpet there as well. something durable like a short loop you'd find in a boat. i can't wait to add the tailgate storage lid to mine. i finally came up on the list but had pass at the time.

I thought about doing carpeting but the reality is I will more than likely be doing a drawer set up with side wings so that I can still access the side panels.

I would go brown/beige. Every single speck of dirt and dust on the black will stand out like a dime in a goats ass. Do you have a Tuffy? and is it black or has it been repainted? If it is still black, that would help even things out. Good luck with your decision, it will look good no matter how you go.

I am planning on Iron Pig's beige seats...unless I can find some leather 80 seats cheap and in decent shape. The Tuffy has not been purchased yet but more than likely will paint it the same as the other thread with the bad ass interior. I am not going that extreme. Just want it to be nice for the :princess:

Can't find it at the moment, but did you see the thread with the brown interior line-X ? Brown truck, but it looked pretty good. But black and brown ? Throw in some red and you'd look like an Italian Fascist. :D

Sorry, but I meant to say floor and back of the seat in black. That will really compliment the bling side panels.

Line x is meant to protec and aesthetics come second..right ???

I say go with the color you already have inside the truck.... Wouldn't be much easier to Line X the KR side panels and rear storage panel ?

Yeah, so what if they are black....as someone else stated earlier, Black shows all dust/dirt/ and scratches specially in the rear cargo area....

You ought to photo shop it with the same color as the rest of the interior including the rear quarter panels.. that should give yah a pretty good idea how it will look..

Just my .02 cents

G'luck !!

Line-X to protect the metal + paint as well as for aesthetics in my opinion.

Not a bad idea, but the coating kevin puts on them is a very durable , rubberized coating. I've had my tailgate on for about a year, and it doesn't look bad at all!

Black looks good w/ white. Even with brown I think. I have a white cruiser with brown int. but will be fabricating my own console that will be black. I plan to line just the floor in the cargo area in black and it will match the black bumpers/ sliders.

Ok just to throw something else out there, I intend to keep the side panels and the future tailgate panel as black. ALL chrome pieces on the exterior will either be powder coated black or rattle canned black (if its plastic). So exterior will be 100% white and black only.

I am going to line the back of the seat just in case I need to actually use it for something and dont want to damage it someway.

I will install the side panels tomorrow and take some new pics and do up some photoshop with black and brown.

I have a tan 60 with brown interior. I recently just did what you are planning to do- i thought about going black but there is no way that would look right with the brown interior. So i had the line-x color matched brown to the truck. After getting this done i would never even consider going another direction. I am also on the list for the wagon gear stuff- i planned on just leaving them black. The cargo area is pretty seperate so i think it will look fine. I put an sor diamond plate vinyl mat in the cargo area anyways since things plan to slide around on the linex. When i did my linex- i didnt want to go overboard- so i just had them do where there was carpet- Including the back of the rear seat. Now i just have the linexd seat back exposed. It looks really good. Much better than the carpet.
Sorry about the long reply- but i had the same exact questions as you before i did mine. The color matching linex is expensive so make sure you get everything sprayed at once.
