One more thing about black

If you are hauling dogs in the summer, a black floor is the hottest surface you can have. Hope you have window tint; that might help.

Funny you should say that. We are a few hours away from adopted a 10mo old fixed, male, blue, AmStaff. AWESOME disposition!! The idea is do brown for the floor. In the back the future holds a drawer set up. No tint yet but I'm sure that will be coming too.

Ok so I just got back from Valley Line-X in North Hollywood. Same outfit that does the TLC Icons.

They want $650 for the rocker panels in black.

They want $925 for the interior floor in black. +$200 to add a color to make it color matched brown.

THAT IS TOOOOO DAMN MUCH MONEY!!!! $1775 is more than I paid for the truck :p

So I am going to see what Rhino wants next. Gotta be cheaper

HOLY CRAP! Well, you saved me a trip to NoHo Line-X ....

Well thinking about going over there tomorrow to firm up the price and report back. Heck I may even stop by Mark's to shoot the shiznit :p

Not cool, you're not allowed to have that much fun while I am at work! I am curious on final pricing.

As a follow up to my comment earlier in the thread.

Here is where the 60 series begins to rust in the cargo area.

Also keep good lenses and gaskets on the rear lights. If they leak, your rear quarter panels can fill with water and rust from the inside out. There are body plugs you can remove from the bottom to drain most of the water out.

Nice cone.

I've got rust there as well, unfortunately.

I have had 5 or 6 of the 60 series and four of them have had rust in this area.

That is why I asked the question earlier if the lining he was going to do was to prevent or stop this. It is really hard to line this area since that is where the chrome strip goes and the weather stripping. All of the rusted ones had the weather stipping torn on the right side of the upper hatch latch.

You can clean this area out from the inside of the channel. Under the vehicle on both sides there is a rubber flap. Lift up the rubber flap and you will see an access panel hel in by two phillips screws. The access panel has a drain molded into it. The rubber flap keeps crud/mud from pluggin the drain.

The access panel is there so you can get to the top of the body mount bolt. remove the access panel and stick a garden hose in there and was the 20 years of dust and debris out if that channel. You will be amazed how much crud comes out.

I use a sewer pipe cleaning attachment for my pressure washer to do it. It looks like a starburst when on.

I like my road cone and travels with me in all of my vehicles. ;p

NLXTACY,
Maybe we can do a group paint? I wonder if you'd get a discount if I did the rockers at the same time...
Just a thought.

Ok just got back from visitingMark and picking up some rack feet and getting my ConFer rack for the LX. I stopped by the Rhino Lining place in San Fernando. They took a look at everything and they wanted $750 to do all the prep, to spray the interior, the back of the seat (at a later time), the outside rocker panels all the way around and the exterior of the inner fender wells, where the tires are.

Randy, $350 for your rockers. Prolly an extra $50 to do your fender wells as well.

They need a least two days but I will plan on giving them at least three to not rush them. It turns out these are the same guys that sprayed my FJ40 10 years ago. They just moved locations.

That's a little more reasonable... I guess... but it's still :crybaby: expensive.

Here's the way I am looking at it, $400 for the interior and $350 for the exterior. Doing one or the other and the price is pretty dam good considering they do all the prep as well.

I am actually doing this stuff BEFORE some other things that I think are more important for one reason and one reason only:

The :princess:

Gotta make her happy. Oh and BTW, she saw the BAD ASS brown liner and she "NO, that looks like poo"

So its going in black.

:princess: = :deadhorse: and if you don't do what they say : :skull:

Mine did this to me 'cuz of the cruser -- :hillbilly:

It's gonna look awesome, in any case.

I am going to cut my lower rocker panels under the doors to clear my sliders straight to the frame. before I weld the sliders on I was thinking of lining the side panel / fender area.

update?

enquiring (anti-freeze saturated cargo carpet) minds want to see da pix!
