You will need to find an early steering wheel.

glad to hear you made it back to san francisco safe and sound ian. I was thinging about this on the way home (with no AC when it was 110* in sac) and that wrench is far stronger than the spoke it replaced. the only thing I think that could make this a better trail fix would be to grind down the box end on two 19mm and put two on there to make another spoke to compinsate for the two that broke.

thanks for letting me be the co-pilot for rubithon, I had a great time and nothing could have been better--well, cept all that waisted beer. I OWE you a couple of stock wheels and a few beers the next time your up this way.

I have an old stock wheel, just say the word and give my an address and I will send it to you, you could then get rid of the wrench. Oh yea I also heard about this while I was in the springs.

Ian, I spent a few minutes gathering up SOME of the old wheels at the shop. Here's what I found:

Just happened to think of this thread again today. @ian and @sine80 were responsible for teaching me the dangers of taking a cooler full of BOTTLED beer on the trail! I think they lost 3six packs of microbrews. :(

@PepeFJ72 just brought me a case of Fat Tire in cans last week that will be going with me to Death Valley shortly. ;)
