Am thinking about doing a FJ40 to FJ45 conversion. I love the look of the fj45 but cant stand to pay the money for one, but i can always find a 40 for a decent price.

Would like to a king cab or at least a access cab.

I just had some questions:
Is there a link to some one that has done it before
What frame will i have to use or could use. I want to use a frame that will let me but a flat bed on the back and be the size of a standard length bed.
What frame will let me use fj60 axles.

If any one can help me out that would be great.

Look in the hard core section. I just posted some more pics of mine. Heading is fj40 1/2 xcab build. I built it a couple of years ago, but just repainted it and built a hard top for it.

Contact Gozzard.

He said his son does this type of work from stretching the frame to making the custom fiberglass body.

Best,

T

Please Stop Lying

I am probably not going to make myself popular with this post, but I feel an obligation to request some honesty.

Webster defines a lie as "a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive. I am tired of folks cutting up or bobbing an FJ40 and then calling it an FJ45. The frames of a 45 and 40 as well as many other parts are very different. To claim a butchered 40 is a 45 may seem cool, but IMO it is dishonest and doesn't do our hobby any good at all. More importantly, it diminishes the value of a real FJ45, especially for those lucky enough to have an honest extended-cab version.

The pictures on this thread are all of cut FJ40's.

This is the most egregious example of a deliberate attempt to deceive. There is not a single significant part on that truck that came from an FJ45, and yet D'Animal continues to deceive folks into thinking it has something to do with a 45. I have pointed the fact out to him that it is dishonest, but that does not seem to matter.

Flame away -- I am just a grumpy old fart who believes in honesty and "truth in advertising":flipoff2:

Who's trying to deceive someone?

Truth in advertising? I see no ad here.

D'Animal isn't trying to sell his truck and say its an FJ45.

Do you call your truck with it's exoskeleton and custom rear an FJ45? It's more buggy than Land Cruiser.

x2

I don't see anything wrong as well...

it's all wording...and he does say (from what i remember) that it's an fj40...there's no deception at all

there are alot of guys who call their fj40 an fj40....however...you wouldnt be able to tell that by looking at it.

You guys talking about FJ45 like there is only two FJ45 in the whole world. They are all over,,, so take it easy

LOL not in the usa

and yes...taking it easy is cool....free speech...he does have an option...as we all do

It's only dishonest if he tries to sell it to you as an fj45. I feel like I know Dan pretty well and using the word dishonest to describe him makes you look very foolish.

There are so many things I disagree with in this post, I don't even know where to begin

Well I don't see how turning a fj40 into a fj45 can bring down the value of the 45 because when it is all said and it's still a 40. Not every one has the money to spend on a 45. But whatever.

I think you should get over yourself.

An AR15 built to look like an M4 isn't an M4 but people still call it that.

A fake Oldsmobile 442 does NOTHING to diminish the value of a real one, I know, mine is fake.

Sorry some of us lack the resources or money to track down, purchase and then chop up a real one .

I bow to your obvious supremacy.
