So I am pretty sure I am going to go w/ OME 2.5" lift eventually. Problem is I want to run 35's. What are some good shackles to add to this kit that I can purchase now to clear 32's. I am on a budget and cant throw down for the lift right now. The springs are currently stock. Oh and what is the advantage for doing a shackle reversal other than approach angle?

On a budget. Make your own with a drill and a saw. As for the other question i be bLunt SEARCH

Hi All:

From what I've heard you can run tall and narrow tires like the 33X9.5R15 on stock rims and with stock suspension.

To be honest, if you want to run 35 inch tires, you need to save up to do a spring-over axle (SOA) swap. You can use your stock springs (though other, longer TLC springs are better) and you gran like 5 to 6 inches of lift over the worn-out Spring-under axle (SUA) leaf springs.

The reality is once you have done the SOA on your rig you will want to run 36 inch or larger tires! :D

Good luck!

Alan

I run OME springs and 35x12.50x15 tires.

I run the OME rear greasable shackle up front with some 2 degree caster correction shims, and I run ManAFre's anti inversion shackle (I think 2.5" over stock) in the rear. My 35's rub at full stuff but thats probably a given. Its been this way for 8-9 years now

I am saving up to do a SOA on FJ60 axles though...

Ruff stuff has some good simple cheap shackle plates that you can turn into shackles w/ some bolts and a drill and some paint. The shackle reversal is a mixed bag.....I run one on my 55 series, and the jury is still out on if I would do it to the rig I'm hoping to get a hold of. I prolly would NOT do the MAF shackle reversal again. It was easy enough, but in my mind left much to be wanted in regards to shackle angle, pinion angle and those two big ramps hangin down off the front frame rails. IF I did it again, it would prolly entail a cut and turn to keep my caster spot on while maintaining a good pinion angle, I would do a low profile hangar up front and prolly a sleeve thru the frame for the shackle hangar. But, I still don't know if I would do it again or not. I DO like the way the rig I have now handles and rides. Like I say, it's a mixed bag...

These shackles are VERY versatile, can be used with virtually all replacement springs and suspension mods:
