i just took my third member out to install a lincoln locker. didn't think about ordering gaskets first.

I know I can use permatex on my inspection inspection plate but I am not sure if it will work on the front side. the surface is not as smooth as a 20 newer truck but its not terrible either. this is probably yhe first time it's been out

anyone done it without problems. or should i just go ahead and order paper gaskets.

i blew the gears in my tundra two years ago and replaced the third member guy at the parts store gave me the black permatex has not leaked yet.

i never use gaskets. i've seen more issues with the gaskets than they're worth. i always use black silicone ( preferrably the oem toyota stuff or "the right stuff ) and let it set up for 24 hours before adding fluid.
