Trying to locate some 15 inch wheels for my 1986 hj60. What I need to know the wheel offset. Searched the net and everything is for the new cruisers. Also can you post some pics to give me an idea of some styles.PLEASE
thanks

3.5 inches is ideal, though 3.75 will fit, with like 1/32" clearance. just find 6 bolt with 3.5" backspacing and you'll be fine. i run eagle alloy's 186's, but you can get mickey classics or dick cepek dc-1 to fit as well. if you get a bargain on a set you can get 1/4" spacers if you heave to.

pics after soa, new steering arms give lots of clearance.

Browse through the FAQ. There is tons of information on what wheels, backspacing, etc, can be applied to the 60/62.

Mine isn't on there, so I'll post pics: Eagle101 (15X8 3.25BS) on 31s BFGs. Couldn't be happier with the tuck and fit of these wheels. Once I get a small lift, with custom shock mounts for long travel bilstein 5150s and the truck is done for mods...for now...

Pics are from a Treo so excuse the quality...

Cody...what size wheels are those on your brown truck?

I run AWC wagon wheels, 3.75in backspacing and its close on the front end with my steering arms.

I would prefer 3.5in. But sometimes backspacing isnt all you have to worry about, I had a set of 3.25in backspacing wheels that hit my calipers because of the way the inner part of the wheel was shaped...

i believe the wheels are 15x8 and i think the backspacing might of been 3.65, when i get back to canada i'd like to run 15x10 dc-1's and 37" boggers. i wont be able to for quite a while but thats the pan. when i was looking for rims i found a set of good alloys similar to what i have for $400 but they didnt have enough backspacing. i found out later i could have just got 1/4" spacers and they would have fit. paid $180 cdn a piece for these with center caps that wouldnt fit toyota hubs.

I went with 3.75" backspacing and yes they fit and actualy do rub on the tie rod end dust boots, some one told me that if you use wheel spacers you probably need longer wheel studs, I have american raceing 23 wheels and am not comfortable with the amount of thread for the lug nuts to grab as it is, just something to consider. Maybe 16" wheels would give better clearance?

3.75" BS Unique cheapies from Discount Tire. Needed a 1/4" spacer in the front to fit.

I ended up getting 2 sets- 15x8 and 15x7s from MRW (mrt-wheels.com). About the same price as the Unique style 42s and they don't rub. You can order them in any backspace you want as the wheels are all made custom. I like the look of their D inners.

Got one in and it works perfect with 3.25" backspacing- 1 set is a painted silver finish, 1 is black. No beadlocks for now. :D

FYI, OEM backspacing is 3.35" which is why 3.5" usually (but not always) works. The issue seems to now be how far the punched out part (the "D") pushes to the caliper. You can grind a little off for it to work.

hks- OFFSET is -44mm

those rims look pretty sharp! be sure to post some pics when you get them on,

why is offset important?, i only worry about 3.65 or less backspacing.

on a side note anyone know of a 6 bolt 16" wheel with about 3.5 or less backspacing, 10"-12" wide? i really like the look of thedick cepek dc-1's but in a 16" i'd have to spend another hundred on spacers.

My "back in the day" V8 60.."found" rims, 15x10 on 33x12.50
