flares and chrome, then I painted...

Crimped, silver soldered, shrunk, and Tech Flexed some 1/0. Ran all of it to the back of the truck. Installed a Blue Sea Mega fuse holder and the shunt for my Redarc BMS1215. Had to order longer runs of RJ12 for the display and battery monitor so couldn't wrap it up yet

Got a free ride home on a tow truck thanks to AAA and a blown head gasket.

Replaced the head gasket and installed ARP head studs and replaced the phh while I was in there.

The paintwork has been looking pretty sad after the last few trips so it was time to give it a bit of TLC. Started with a full underbody high pressure hose then a wash. Fired up the buffer and hit every panel with Maguires Mirror Glase medium cutting compound and watched all those bush stripes disappear before my eyes. Swapped on a new wool pad and hit every panel again with Maguires Showcar Glaze. Finished off with Mothers Carnubra wax. It came up so much better than I'd hoped and well worth the effort.

Drivers window stopped working last week. I thought it was the switch so ordered a replacement from Switch Doctor. When the switch came the window still did not work. Should have done better troubleshooting but I was lazy. So today I removed the door panel and pulled the regulator and motor. I opened the motor and cleaned and lubed the rotor. Then I polished the rotor contact and the brushes. Reassembled and viola it works... I have a new motor on order as I see this as a very temp fix. On the positive I have two master switches.

I cannot stress enough the need to draw little marks to show where your regulator was in so when you reinstall your motor it's proper.

Replaced my oil pump cover gasket and front crank seal. It's the second time I've done it since I own two fzj80s, those seven damn screws were no easier the second time. I also failed to remove the crank pulley with the starter bump method, and had to resort to buying a new tool, OTC crank pulley holder, worked great.

Checked air in tires, oil. Added 1 qt.

Installed TEQ badge. Great work bhicks!

Touched up the ratty mudflaps. One step forward and two steps back though... Cruise control crapped out on my way back from the range.

I FIXED THE AIR CONDITIONING!!! What a relief. I have been driving the Cruiser for almost 2 years with no AC and in the South it gets hot and humid. It felt great to have all of the windows up in 90* and full sun.

Now I just have to get tint and paint the roof white and I will be set.

What did you use to touch up the mud flaps? Mine are in need of some TLC.

I decided to try a suggestion made by tomcolins. I used a Testors enamel paint pen that I picked up from Hobby Lobby. Be sure to clean and degrease the area before you apply the paint. Bear in mind that I haven't tried this before and therefore have no idea how long this stuff will actually last.

Worked on many things but this is from "Project Blackout." Tan Monstiliner next month...

Not the weekend but had time to kill. Went to Michael's Crafts and bought three different types of black lining. Two are like a fabric-y carpet and the third is polyeurathane. I went with the stiffer carpet type fabric. I eyeballed and test fit the whole thing but now I have a liner for the armrest cubby. Took me all of ten mins and like $3.00 but brings me joy. May use Lo-tack contact cement just to keep it in place.

Used the polyeurathane on the lower bin. I may wind up using the fabric carpet instead but wanted to see how this faired.
