@1911 Yep - olympic plates. The 35# weight is enough so you can compress the spring and set the keys into the shaft with just a slight push: pressure can be applied slowly and evenly. Then, once everything is down, the weight of the plate is enough to hold it there, giving you 2 free hands for maneuvering the lock ring into position.
