There is a clunking sound from my steering wheel when rotating lightly from side to side. The sound is only there on the rotational direction, not when pulling steering wheel in/out. There sems to be play somewhere at the top of the steering column/steering wheel - It is not in the rubber joint under the dash or from that point towards the steering box.
The constant "clunk clunk" It is pretty annoying when driving on uneven terrain.

The "tilt" function assembly has been tightened and the play is not from this part of the steering column.

It is almost as if there is a joint at the top of the steering column that is worn, but ASAIK there is not moving parts in that part of the column. The steering wheels bolts into the steering shaft and next stop is the rubber joint under the dash?

Before I take the whole thing apart I would appreciate any thoughts on the matter
